Nate Latsch Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 McKendree fans, Is Mike Strobbe, a freshman forward out of McCluer, going to start this season? - Nate Quote
billiken_roy Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 john i talked to harry a few weeks ago when i ran into him at a sporting goods store. i was impressed he remembered my younger brother who was a backup point guard for him in the mid 80's. i got to get out to see the bearcats this year. i will be sure to let you know when i can get to a game. thanks john for the heads up! billiken_roy Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 nate, i havent followed mckendree college ball like i used to, but it used to be a rare instance for a freshman to start for harry statham. he seemed to make them put there time in on the bench and even on the jv team first. so i would doubt that he would play much his first year. but maybe times have changed at lebanon. But as Roy said, not too many Frosh start on the big club. Even Matt Laur was redshirted his first year. And he went on to become the Bearcats' all time leading career scorer. Quote
