davidnark Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 http://espn.go.com/ncaa/s/2003/0630/1575067.html "Meanwhile, as soon as Louisville leaves Conference USA, the WAC is expected to formally invite Tulane, TCU and Houston." Army is supposed to leave CUSA. If Army, Tulane, TCU, and Houston leave the conference, then the rumor posted below (CUSA and the Big East will swap football schools for basketball schools) makes a lot more sense. New Big East football would pick up: Cincy, Southern Miss., Louisville, UAB (?), East Carolina, Memphis, and South Florida (to go with Pitt, BC, U Conn, Syracuse, Temple, and Rutgers). 12 or 13 teams. New Big East basketball would pick up: SLU, Charlotte, DePaul, and Marquette (to go with the Georgetown, Seton Hall, Providence, Villanova, St. Johns, and NC) - 10 Teams Quote
Basketbill Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Add Dayton and Xavier to the big east basketball, and you have two nice geographically defined divisions. Quote
