TheBand
Ref's name was Curtis Shaw. http://slubillikens.collegesports.com/spor.../022005aaa.html Louisville trailed by four after missing 8 of its first 11 shots and making four turnovers in the opening six minutes. "The Cardinals started 1-for-8 from 3-point range, before Garcia made one from the corner with 5:05 left in the first half. On Louisville's next possession, Soderberg screamed at referee Curtis Shaw for not calling Myles for traveling. Garcia hit another 3-pointer, giving Louisville its first lead at 24-22, and Soderberg continued his rant, drawing a technical from Shaw. Referee Steve Welmer then faced off with Soderberg, who was restrained by assistants. When Welmer walked away, Soderberg angrily punched the air and Shaw gave him another technical, ejecting him. Garcia sank the four resulting free throws to give the Cardinals a six-point edge."
The Wiz
After the missed traveling call on Myles, Brad kept jawing at the ref. Nothing flagrant, just constant. I've seen worse this year by opposing coaches during Bills games. Once the ref called the technical, Bead went ballistic---to the point that he had to be escorted by a cop---"to make sure he left peacefully. After the game a very emotional(almost breaking down) Brad apolegized for his behavior...saying he let the team down and his behavior was uncalled for. He didn't want to discuss the specifics for fear of league reprisals. I thought we outplayed them in the 1st half. Even after the double technical we didn't lose our cool. At halftime, Pitino said he made adjustments to handle our defense plus it looked like we started to tire in the 2nd half. Once we tired things fell apart. Missed shots, turnovers, open shots for them. Considering they were 24 point favories, I thought we did a pretty good job. Lville came off the court at halftime kind of stunned Incidentally, there was a nice showing of Bills fans there.
jjray
You were at the game Wiz? Those double technicals were a total gift and changed the momentum of the game. If it was a player, OK fine, but the head coach deserves some respect from the refs ... and SLU gets none in CUSA.
