tseugnekillib
If SLU's decision to join the A-10 would have come this April versus last Fall do you think SLU's decision not to join the MVC would have generated as much discussion? Personally, I think a few media types would still be making a case for SLU to go the MVC route, but the strong performances of St. Joes and Xavier (plus the two other NCAA bids in Dayton and Richmond) certainly makes SLU's decision look good! I am certainly glad that the A-10 elected to expand and include SLU. Thank you Lord!
Box and Won
Definitely. And in addition to the four A10 teams who received NCAA bids, Rhode Island had a solid season at 20-14. I don't know if Temple can achieve its former glory under Chaney, but they have had some very good teams fairly recently.
cheesycow
discussion. They made the right choice by far. The a-10 is lightyears ahead of the mvc. The only thing that the MVC had to offer was regional rivalrys, but even those weren't that compelling.
Trich
You made an excellent point regarding the timing of conference realignment and the positions of the sports media pundits. That is the reason you always have to be skeptical of opinions of the so-called experts.
