osafetypin
How about that Joe Mimlitz- the guy who used to coach for SLUH. He'd be a great assistant.
courtside
>How about that Joe Mimlitz- the guy who used to coach for >SLUH. He'd be a great assistant. lol...is Joe still collecting a check at SLUH as P.E. teacher? Considering he hasn't coached high school ball in what 20-25 years....Joe was always good for a laugh at camps. He needs to find a retirement hobby. osafetypin...I think you are confused, this is the SLU board, not the SLUH board circa early to mid 1980's and prior. osafetypin
The guy was the best coach around. Great fundamentals. His biggest failure was not playing the political game. Majerus and Mimlitz would be unstoppable. Only a few years older than Rick and in better health.
courtside
If Joe were 30 years younger and wanted to make some contacts and work his way up the ladder from community college or NAIA etc...to D-3 or D-2 and get into low D-1 and etc....and work his way up a ladder.....have at it. Unless Joe has a current huge pipeline of major D-1 players at his disposal, ....something he has never had before in his life, I'm gonna say no. If he were a recent college grad and had the level of playing career or connections at D-1 schools, he could skip some of those steps and be a 3rd or 4th assistant somewhere. RUBillsFan
smokin Joe is a little busy drinking his adult water and crackin jokes that only he laughs at these days to coach ball.

courtside
The only difference between Joe and Rick is about 30-35 years of major D-1 basketball experience and NBA experience and World Baksetball expereince at many age levels.
