Maguire/Matt Lawrence

I guess that, in my eternal optimism, when I see a player like Matt Lawrence rise from relative obscurity during his freshman year at Mizzou to become a terrific 3 point threat and play sound defense in the Big 12, I feel there is hope that Maguire might be able to have similar results in the A10 next year. I know that Lawrence had a rigorous offseason shooting program. Again being optimistic, it would be great if Maguire could "connect" with Lawrence to develop the same rigorous workout. Time will tell.

I think Maguire will be a pleasant surprise in the future. Poor defense now... because is plays "up" and doesn't move his feet well (he will never be quick), imho...but that's not unusual for most freshman at ANY school. Not a lot of minutes to date (because of the above, which in turn prolongs the above)

BS doesn't have the luxury of finding certain times for him. Better recruiting LAST year would have provided a better bench THIS year.. and his defiencies would not be as glaring. (imo)

I think as soon as Dustin hits his first 3, he is going to be unstoppable. He's just gotta get warmed up. I'm calling it right now: he'll hit his first 3 tomorrow night and he will then go on to score 12 points.

Not to rain on your parade, but Dustin hit a three his last game against Fordham. I don't think he has hit one at home yet, though.
