Wow! I was expecting a tall, awkward kid who could dunk and block shots and that’s about it. This kid can play. He may be raw and may need to put on some weight, but wow, I was not expecting what I saw in that video.

The answer is obvious why speculating about Covid would be different. More than 1 true Billiken fan stopped posting here for good last year when that thread was still open. There were very disturbing personal insults, does discussing and speculating about Covid here change ANYTHING? Do you really think a discussion on this board is going to convince anybody to get vaccinated? Is it going to convince anybody that they shouldn’t get vaccinated? Is it going to effect the policies of SLU, the A10 or the NCAA one iota? If not, then what exactly is the point of having a Covid discussion on this board? Especially since we all already know how it’s going to end? You guys can’t help yourselves? Fine. I’ll be taking a break from the board until closer to the start of the season. I have no interest in seeing that crap day in and day out.

Can we set a rule: the Covid discussion will be allowed AFTER it has some effect on the ‘21-‘22 season…not before. As far as we know, everything is moving forward as normal right now. Speculation and arguing with each other when nothing has even happened yet is pointless. We can cross that bridge if/when we get to it. I’m not trying to be a jerk. I’m not trying to boss anyone around. I completely understand that pretty much everyone has strong opinions on the subject, myself included. But there’s a time and place for it. And this ain’t it.

I haven’t criticized anybody from either side except the idiots who only seem to pop up when politics becomes a topic. I couldn’t care less who started it. This isn’t 1st grade. Just let it go.

Let’s just all agree to stop responding and turn our attention back to Nesbitt and Perk and Okoro and TJ hitting 60% from three in one of his recent Instagram posts.

Here’s 10 minutes full of reasons why Nesbitt will be starting from day 1. We have guys that can do 1 or 2 things as well as Jordan Nesbitt does it, but I’m not sure we have anyone who can do EVERYTHING as well as Jordan Nesbitt does them. Will there be a learning curve stepping up to D1 competition? Of course. But his talent is undeniable. He’s going to terrorize the A10.

No offense intended, but not sure you can use TJ not taking guys off the dribble as reason not to start him, when you’re plan on starting Jimerson instead. So far Jimerson has never been anything more offensively than a spot up shooter. A deadly spot up shooter. A sniper. But TJ is infinitely more capable of taking guys off the dribble than Jimerson is.

Lol. You misunderstand me. I don’t care if a person is right or left. What offends me is that you only seem to pop up on this board when you find an opportunity to play the victim because you got suspended. You quite literally haven’t posted about ANYTHING Billikens related in MONTHS. THAT is what offends me.

As long as it doesn’t come at the cost of us getting of to a slow start offensively. Don’t get me wrong, I love Yuri. But I’ll believe he’s a consistent scorer when I see it. We know Perkins is a walking bucket, and Nesbitt should be able to score in bunches. I think Okoro is a gonna be a monster, but we haven’t seen it yet. And we’ve never seen Thatch be a big time scorer either. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but that starting lineup, right now, leaves a lot of question marks offensively.

If Steffen is healthy, I think he’s going to be in goal. Turner was incredible. He deserves a shot. But Steffen and Horvath haven’t don’t anything to fall down the depth chart yet. My guess is all 3 of them will get starts at some point during qualifying, but I’d bet Steffen gets the 1st one. Agree 100% with your back line. I really like your midfield. I think it will be some combination of those three plus Acosta and Musah who hasn’t been mentioned much, but has huge talent. Reyna and Pulisic are locks to start. But I bet Sargent starts game one over Zardes/Dike/Hoppe. Berhalter appreciates his hold-up play. But he’s going to be on thin ice if he doesn’t start finishing.

Agreed. There’s a time and a place for that stuff. No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, I think we can all agree this board is infinitely better when we don’t talk about politics. Let’s just let it go. My Starting 5 Prediction: Yuri Nesbitt Hargrove Perkins Okoro i feel like 4 of the 5 are locks. T think the 5th starting spot is between Hargrove and Thatch, and Jimerson will start the year off the bench.

If TJ keeps shooting like this, his minutes are going to up a lot this year.

I developed an opinion. The universe isn’t static. Every USMNT soccer fan in America and most of their commentators have been questioning whether Sargent can finish enough for at least the past year, and for the past few years, he’s been playing for a club that has minimal interest in scoring goals. Yes, confidence should be a concern.
