  1. He's gonna get paaaaaaaaaaaid. Going to have to pay him enough to keep his name out of the draft and beat out several top programs. He'll have a lot of suitors.
  2. Stu just retweeted this about Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk
  3. Good "do it all" player. Would be better if he increased his free-throw percentage. I have no idea if he would be interested, but that would make SLU incredibly deep at guard/wing.
  4. That makes sense. Perhaps it could be useful for a player they want to "stash" for a season due to injury or some other factor. But it's less likely than I thought, clearly. Thanks for the feedback.
  5. This reads like someone who is in a cult. Chill. Sports are supposed to be fun, remember?
  6. With NLI, I'm guessing that SOME programs might wind up using NLI to essentially pay for a players tuition and then some and they can get them as a walk on. I don't think most programs will do this, but perhaps in certain seasons with certain factors, that might be an option for some. Unless there's something I'm not thinking of that would prevent this.
  7. In college basketball, you can have more than 1 team. There's a lot of room, many teams will never play each other. It's not like a league of 30 or 32 teams. If you adopt your wife's team in addition to your own, there's nothing wrong with that. There's a lot of people who are fans of their undergrad and grad school, etc. Nothing wrong with that. If you can cheer along side Cubs fans who root for the Bills, I'm pretty sure you can stomach fans who follow more than one CBB team.
  8. Better, yes, probably, but different. Key is not a pass first guard. He's a scorer who is good for a few assists a game. From a position stand point, it really didn't seem like they were blocking each other. Both players rely on a lot of touches though. I don't think they'd have to sacrifice minutes being on the same team, but one or both would get less touches most likely. I would guess Tennessee is probably looking at their other options for a pass first guard right now to replace what they thought they had in Collins. However, I was wrong yesterday about this situation. Totally could be wrong on this as well.
  9. Hard to say. It's possible, but all along it seemed Tennessee was planning on taking and landing them both. Did some SLU booster step up with some money? Did Key cost UT more money than they initially thought and it decreased Collins' offer? Maybe we were wrong the whole time and it was Key OR Collins not Key AND Collins for UT. I'd like to know out of curiosity, but we'll likely never know for sure.
  10. Happy to be wrong!!!!!! (To be fair to myself, not sure if the Key commitment was part of it. Hard to say. Not sure we'll get the full story, but as a curious fan, I hope the story comes out. At any rate, I was definitely wrong about the bridge being burned.)
  11. Wow. So glad to be wrong. Thought the bridge was burned. Some of you guys are going to be dealing with some weird emotions right now, haha. Somehow, despite the rhetoric, I think you'll be cheering for him again. Back in the top 25 convo. Feels good.
  12. I wouldn't be too sure about that. I don't really think it's going to affect Collins for a handful of reasons. Bottom line, I feel fairly confident Tennessee was planning on taking and landing both Key and Collins and that Collins knew this. BUT, it's possible that's not true and I'm wrong. However, even if Collins reverses course and goes elsewhere, there's a very good chance the bridge with SLU has been burned (as several other people on here have surmised). Anything is possible, but I would say it's more likely than not he's still heading to Tennessee. And if he's not going to Tennessee, I would say it's more likely than not he would wind up somewhere other than SLU. But all we can do is wait and find out.
  13. Yes. He's Clemson bound. What's interesting about that is Brownell has played a tight rope act with his job for quite sometime. Seems like every time he's in a make or break season he makes it with a good season, then reverts to form. Seems like a weird landing spot for a sitting head coach. Makes me think something made him want to get off that ship at almost any cost. Not sure why though. Admittedly, I don't know much at all about the UMKC job, it's pros and cons, etc. I do know that the conference switch they made recently has got to be good for them. Way less travel than before. https://247sports.com/Article/Clemson-basketball-hires-Billy-Donlon-Sean-Dixon-as-assistant-coaches-186543790/
  14. Jaren Holmes has entered the portal. Hmmmmmm. Interesting.
  15. Keita is a project, but assuming the number of scholarships SLU now has available, I'd say it's worth it. With his injuries and lack of minutes last season, I wouldn't expect him to be a big contributor next season. But the ceiling is high on his ability and he's a high motor guy that fits Ford's programs. SLU needs to be thinking about next season with most of their open spots, but can't lose sight on the seasons beyond either. This would be a move with that in mind. Basically a replacement for Traore, but with the added risk of injury concerns.
  16. Christian Jones has reopened his recruitment. Might be a fit at SLU. Will be interesting to see what kinds of other programs now offer him.
  17. What exactly is "Ford's crap". I keep hearing stuff like that. What are people talking about when they say this?
  18. No, it was probably just a front for a wealthy Tennessee booster to give him money. This is how it's going to work for a little bit before they finally just pay players directly.
  19. What's MBM stand for? Also, I guess the rumors were true. Dang. Rough.
  20. Yuri with a new tweet. "UNKNOWN… stay tuned!" https://twitter.com/smoovYC1/status/1515175653154435075?s=20&t=2mkZISs7A98nBK0jDWndkQ
  21. Welp, Rothstein is pretty dang reliable. That seals it. Time to move on.
  22. Whoa man. It's the A10, not the ACC. I'm not giving up on this season yet. Honestly, Gordon leaving might hurt them more next season than this season depending on other possible moves.
