  1. I'll take that action. I say a 2-game home and home is officially announced by August. Izzo's scheduling philosophy has always been to schedule opponents who play a wide variety of styles to better prepare for the March tournament. We always play a team who runs zone or presses or plays an unusual brand of ball. Izzo will put SLU on the schedule as both a favor to a good guy in Majerus and because SLU will provide a tough matchup that will aid in the development of our younger players. It will be brought up in the phone conversation then put in motion. Book it.
  2. Obviously Izzo has a say in the scheduling, but it wouldn't require a meeting between coaches to get that accomplished. My guess is that Izzo wants to talk strategy with Majerus. St. Louis' game plan against MSU was perfect. I'm sure Izzo wants feedback and ideas from the only program in the nation who out-toughed the Spartans all year. With that said, it wouldn't surprise me if MSU played SLU in the future. We've gone to IUPUI, Bradley and other schools from non-BCS conferences. Izzo is a master of finding teams who jack up our RPI and he doesn't shy away from anyone, which oftentimes can be a fault because we end up a 4 or 5 seed with so many early OOC losses.
  3. Spartan Nation did not come up with that name. Blame the message boards. Blame the blogs. Blame the media. Do not blame The Tradish.
  4. He is an idiot. Ignore him. He is nothing like this man:
  5. Wow, what a post. Now shut up and go to sleep. No one is interested in your self-righteous dorkiness.
  6. Please. MSU was the best team in the best conference. With Dawson MSU wins the national championship. Don't sell your team short. You played us tough and had a great chance to win. Your shots just didn't fall when you need them to.
  7. Saint Louis is in the same boat USC and Louisville were in back in 09 (I think that was the year). Playing elite level basketball and likely heading to the Final Four, but having the unfortunate luck of getting matched up against Tom Izzo. That was the #1 vs. #2 in the West region. Best of luck in the future.
  8. Thornton is a MAC-level player who needs to shut his mouth. Don't listen to scrubs.
  9. Did you happen to see future Spartan Jabari Parker? How did he look?
  10. Haha, numberonecove. Your humor and wit is overwhelming Tell Spartan Mag I said 'sup.
  11. If you want to talk hoops, come on over to the Red Cedar Message Board. There are some fairly knowledgable posters over there. If you want to talk to meatheads like "numberonealcove", you can stop by Spartan Magazine. It's like watching a reality show at the Mag. Yes, "numberoneclove" and his associates behave like idiots and take underinformed to the next level, but in the end it does make you feel better about yourself. Here is an old clip of Majerus. It's quite brief: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I72DZCDN3Bs
  12. Bo Ryan has owned Izzo. Their style has been a thorn in our side for years, although much of their success can be attributed to a high level of talent. I think Majarus wants to slow it down and limit possessions in the hopes that MSU goes on one of their patented 5-minutes scoring droughts. If you try to run with the Spartans, you'll allow MSU to get out of their mediocre halfcourt offense and get easy baskets.
  13. This was Tom Izzo's year to win his 2nd national championship until Brenden Dawson blew out his knee. Now we no longer have that freak athletic advantage we were counting on to put us over the top. St. Louis matches up pretty well with the Spartans. Would you agree that your team's style of play is similar to Wisconsin? They take care of the ball and rarely foul. The Tradition 63 St. Louis 61
