Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. 1. Battle of the Alamo 2. Disney 3. ABC 4. NYC 5. Knicks 6. 90-91 season 7. 90 draft 9. AB
  2. brilliant move by kwa. just wouldn't fall. damn.
  3. Willie needs to do nothing but lift weights and shoot free throws all offseason.
  4. If we don't win on Wednesday against Xavier, I see us going 1-3. Losing a game with the potential to keep us in the NCAA tourney talks would be a big blow, especially in front of the raucous home crowd. From that point I only see us beating either Duquesne or Dayton. The air could potentially come out of this thing if we lose to Xavier big. If we beat Xavier, then look out. The confidence of beating the top dog in the A10, combined with the motivation to continue winning and sneak into the tourney is huge. I could easily see us running the table with such a great home atmosphere and lots of fan support. In this scenario, I think our toughest game would be the finale against Dayton. Dayton will probably still be fighting for their lives, trying to sneak into the tourney as well, and everyone knows about the Dayton home-court advantage. A win would keep the dream alive heading into the A10 tourney. A loss would be an unpleasant speed bump prior to the A10 tourney that could possibly trip us up. Win or lose, I see the game on Wednesday as the biggest of the season. I will be anxiously watching all the way from Dallas and I hope to see a sell-out crowd. What's the TV situation?
  5. Also, clearly Majerus can eat more pasta than Romar, which everyone knows is the number one indicator of coaching ability.
  6. I definitely agree. Conference titles are the crowning achievements to regular season play. With that in mind, Majerus is one of the greatest coaches of all time at building programs from the ground up. He takes lower rung recruits and squeezes every drop of talent out of them until his teams are in contention. Eventually, people take notice and he is able to recruit even better talent that fits into his system. The system is the key though and that is why I would never think twice to pick Majerus over Romar. Romar is a good coach, don't get me wrong, but Majerus does more with less talent and Romar will never be mentioned in the same strata is Uncle Rick.
  7. Then the question is, who do you wanting coaching SLU, Romar or Majerus?
  8. Not sure what you mean by ambassador, but I'm pretty sure winning more games than the other guy helps your school tremendously. Any publicity is good publicity (unless you're caught having sex with a woman in a Louisville restaurant after hours) and if the worst thing you can say about a coach is that he is tough on the poor little DI basketball players then he can't be that bad of a person. Maybe Rick Majerus isn't a good person, personally I don't feel comfortable making that assessment, but since you seem to know both coaches so well I guess I'll have to take your word for it.
  9. Based on what Romar has accomplished (or failed to accomplish) this year in a weak Pac-10 conference, I would say that Majerus has absolutely coached more out of his team THIS year. I'm not not educated enough on Romar's time at SLU, but I would say the future looks very bright with Majerus at the helm. Obviously Romar has a much larger talent pool at Washington, but he also has to deal with competition among Gonzaga and other Pac-10 foes. Based on entire careers, however, Majerus wins in a landslide. Zero losing seasons with teams like Ball State, Utah, and SLU. Need I say more?
  10. even though it was close at points, we seemed in control the entire game. good win fellas.
