  1. Kshoe, Please reread my original post so you can stay on topic. This has nothing to do with the Big 12. It has nothing to do with the ACC or the Horizon. It has everything to do with the MVC and to a lesser extent the A10. My intent wasn't to "act like the A10 was short on big time non conference wins." My intent was to ask whether they had done anything all that different from the MVC of a couple years ago when the MVC was accused by some on this board of "figuring out" the RPI. So debunch your panties and stay on topic next time.
  2. I purposely didn't include it because Florida's RPI was 60 and they're middle of the road in the SEC so it didn't seem at least on paper like a "great' win.
  3. As to point one, the A1O as far as I can tell doesn't have very many big wins against highly ranked schools either home, away or neutrel. A quick check revealed: Charlotte won at #32 Louisville which is in the middle of the Big East Dayton beat #29 Georgia Tech on a neutrel court. Gtech is in the middle to lower part of the ACC RI beat #39 Ok St on a neutrel court. Ok St is a middle of the road Big 12 team Richmond beat #45 Mizzou on a neutrel court. Mizzou is a middle of the road Big 12 team Temple beat #6 Villanova at home. Villanova is at the top of the Big East. By far the best win for the conference. X beat #48 Cincy at home. Cincy is a middle of the road Big East team. I would have to think if there are not many more signature wins than this that the conference is also feasting on the middlings. Just a guess. As to poing number two, you're probably right but if that's the criteria people judge teams on, then you probably have no problem with middle of the road BCS teams getting picked over A10 teams because they have more "horses." I really don't see a big difference. My point being is that the Valley probably deserved what they got a few years ago just as the A10 deserves what they'll get this year. No reason to belittle the MVC for their past success.
  4. Huh? I'm curious to hear from those MVC detractors who thought they had just figured it out. This is no way implies that SLU should be in the MVC. McGlotherirvin and MB73 have offered valid responses. You, not so much. Bdick, you can't even ignore me when you have me on ignore. Pathetic.
  5. I know in the past when the MVC had a number of teams with good RPI's that some on this board had suggested that they had figured out how to work the system and schedule so that many of their teams would have respectable RPI's. Has the A10 done the same thing? I'm being serious here. How do you know if we(the A10) or they(MVC) have teams worthy of the high RPI rankings or if they've just "figured" it out.
  6. Yes I'm sure Randy watches what he says about the Bills now because of all the pull that SLU has at the station. If you've noticed, he was critical of the Rams and they carry their games. Now you're being delusional. Bay Area got jumped? Didn't appear so to me. There are many on this board that don't buy the media conspiracy theory against the Bills. I'm not sure how myself and footes are teaming up but I agree with what Thicks mentioned earlier that you're just trying "draw" this out and turn it into something that it's not. Ha! And I agree.
  7. Perhaps you haven't listened to Randy much. He does this all the time. Like I said, smart people(and most dumb people) can figure out if he is being serious or not on a particular topic. Roy use to think Randy hated SLU. But Roy is a jock sniffer when it comes to the media. Randy met him for lunch and now Roy doesn't think he hates SLU anymore. Maybe you need to call Randy and see if he'll buy you lunch.
  8. Thanks for the correction. Here is their seed list. http://www.ncaa.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_cho...seedlist-021210
  9. Sometimes people say things to get a reaction. Some things are said tongue-in-cheek. Smart people can figure these things out. Randy threw out the line and it looks like he caught himself at least one gullible dolt.

  11. You read the Columbia Tribune? That's weird.
  12. When the programs are actually in competition for the same recruit I'm sure both will take notice. Until then, it's a pretty moot point. I can't think of anyone in the 2011 class that they're both targeting.
  13. Nothing to hide here. Fan of both programs. I just think the paranoid Bills fan gives the program a bad name. It's akin to those creepy Cardinal fans that gave LaRussa a standing ovation at the spring training game after his DUI arrest. These people think their teams can do no wrong and the media is always slanted. Bingo.
  14. YOu're not paranoid EVERYBODY is out to get SLU
  15. I'm on the nondelusional side. I don't feel that every boogieman or newspaper is out to get SLU. Would SLU like to be in the Big East? Yes. Will they be? No. I don't care what the priest said. He knows nothing more than the rest of us. Keep taking those drugs. They make everything better.
  16. I'd love to get my hands on some of those Bay Area hallucinogenics. They apparently do wonders. Well now, the experts have spoken. We can put this issue to be.
  17. Majerus forced to fly commercial, and he's not happy February, 2, 2010 Feb 21:45PM ETEmail Print Share By Eamonn BrennanRick Majerus is mad as -- well, you know -- and he's not going to take it anymore. Apparently, Majerus does a weekly radio show every Monday night for St. Louis radio station WXOS, the same station that airs the Billikens' games. Only Monday night, Majerus didn't show up, citing game preparation and charity work as reasons why he couldn't make the broadcast. The only problem with that excuse? Majerus called in and did a 45-minute interview on WGN in Chicago. This has St. Louis fans and media, um, intrigued: The flap caused by St. Louis University men’s basketball coach Rick Majerus abandoning his local radio show has led to wild speculation in the local media and among fans as to the reason. Theories range from the thought he might be campaigning for the DePaul coaching job to the belief that he’s protesting the SLU administration’s recent decision to drop charter flights for the team in favor of commercial travel. [...] The peculiar transpirings have led to a bevy of talk in the media and online. This is a week after Majerus announced he wanted to stop doing the radio show, proposing a name change to "The Billikens Show." Most are pegging the cause of Majerus' behavior to SLU's decision to cut charter flights for Majerus, instead forcing the coach to fly commercial. That sounds about right: "My greatest concern is for my own players academically,’’ he told Ramsey. "Now with this travel schedule, there’s just absolutely no way. You’ve got to get to the airport two (or) 2 1/2 hours early. You’ve got to take early flights. A lot of these places, there’s only one nonstop flight.’’ Waiting for a plane? No non-stop flights? Sitting with ... strangers? Gasp! Positively barbaric! (Barbaric. BARBARIC!) This isn't the first time Majerus has openly complained about his life at SLU. A few weeks ago, Majerus told media he thought St. Louis' conference affiliation was bad for his team's academics; the long flights to the East Coast to play fellow A-10 teams kept his kids out of the classroom for too long. Majerus was pretty open: He wants to be in the Missouri Valley. Whatever the fringe concerns, Majerus is getting slightly restless at St. Louis, and all this travel seems to be the reason why. Let's hope Rick's at least flying first-class. Coach can drive sane men to do terrible things, and Majerus is already plenty agitated.
  18. All that makes sense but where do you draw the line? And why punish the BCS conferenences for having the best teams? Mid majors have buy games as well. You can't tell me that if Xavier and Belmont have similar Out of Conference resumes and conference records, that you wouldn't pick Xavier to make the tourney over them because they played in a much tougher league. It is what it is.
  19. Why is everyone so against the BCS conferences? I thought most people on here want to join the Big East. Is it because we're on the outside looking in? The A10 is as close to a BCS conference as there is. If you ask people from the Horizon or WAC they probably feel that the A10 gets more teams in than it deserves much like A10 fans feel about the BCS. I think for the most part that the at large BCS selections are worthy. You can argue about a pick or two every year but for the most part they get it right. Year after year the BCS conferences are the most competitive. You can argue that they have a monopoly on the at large selections because they don't play the mid majors enought but you can't say that 99% of the time they're the most deserving teams.
  20. I disagree. It's watered down as it is. You don't need to add another 32 teams. It won't make it any better.
  21. I just updated a thread I posted a few weeks ago. That's why Charlotte wasn't included in the first post. They weren't "bid worthy" at that time. The ESPN guy has the A10 getting 5 bids. He leaves Dayton out. Still, 5 or 6 bids would be awesome.
  22. UPDATED 02/01/2010 Jerry Palm has 6 A10 teams in now. It should be a great year for the conference unless something really weird happens over the next month. ATLANTIC 10 (6) Champion: Temple At-large: Charlotte, Dayton, Rhode Island, Richmond, Xavier
