  1. Drew, K State lost one game to a good UNLV game. They hardly fell apart. They are still 12-3 and ranked #17. They could have lost to UNLV with Pullen.
  2. Mitchell and Reed could have not been suspended and could have gotten hurt. Or been an academic suspension. Stuff happens Skip. You have to develop a roster that can deal with that. Majerus has had almost 4 years to develop a roster of players. Of course the team is not going to be as good without those guys. But 5-9 and heading toward a 10 win season? No way that should happen at this point in his tenure. Anyone who thinks this team would be an NCAA tournament team with Reed and Mitchell is high. No way.
  3. They are 12-3 and those 2 losses you mention were to ranked teams on the road.
  4. He is the 4th guy they have had transfer since last season.
  5. Let's face it this team could us Relphorde right now. He would be the best player on the team. Maybe if Majerus hadn't run so many players off he wouldn't have to play so many freshman. But of course none of this is Majerus' fault.
  6. Losing two players is a once in a lifetime situation? It happens all the time, especially in college basketball. Minnesota just had one of their best players leave the team mid-season. I guess they can pack it in and make excuses the rest of the year. Washington just lost their starting point guard to an injury. Stuff happens everywhere.
  7. LOL. mid-major loses 2 players 2 days before the season. Want to make the criteria even narrower than that? How about they have to be in Missouri also?
  8. Players are lost for all kinds of reasons. Doesn't matter how or when you lose them you still have to have a foundation built and be able to survive it. No doubt losing Mitchell and Reed should lower expectations for this year. But to this level? No way.
  9. Their key players last year were Seniors. And they went to the NCAA tournament. That is what a good program looks like. They have success year after year and they don't lose a couple players and fall apart.
  10. Notre Dame is an example of a team that lost it's leading scorer and it's point guard and still got better the next year. The former role players are stepping up. Xavier lost it's leading scorer and playmaker and it's leading rebounder and has come back and is respectable. Teams that are built with a solid foundation don't crumble like this. Sorry folks.
  11. The problem on this team isn't the freshman. It's the Sophmores and Juniors who are not good enough to beat them out so the freshman have to play.
  12. Exactly right. For that to be happening in Majerus' 4th year is ridiculous regardless of circumstances.
  13. Guess what folks. Guys get hurt in college basketball. Guys transfer. Guys go pro. Guys get suspended. It is the coaches job to be ready for that and have a roster who can deal with that. Majerus has been here long enough that the Bills should not be this bad.
  14. The excuses keep piling up. There is no reason that this team should have so little room for error that it completely falls apart because it loses 2 players. I don't care if they are the team's best players. The Bills are now 5-9 and are a lock to fall to 5-11 after the next 2 games. Majerus has run off too many players and has not done a good job of recruiting and developing depth. With a new arena and a group of highly paid assistants it is inexcusable.
  15. How does Pomeroy calculate the experience factor?
  16. Did 3 juniors not start last night or am I wrong about that. As far as the link it does not support that the Bills are the 6th youngest team in D1. I'll await that link.
  17. I'm amazed at the slack Majerus gets on this board. Yes he lost Mitchell and Reed, but for this team to be this bad in his 4th year is ridiculous. Guys get hurt, guys transfer and guys get suspended. It happens everywhere and the bottem doesn't have to drop out on the program. If Majerus is such a great recruiter what the heck are we looking at on the court? Where is the potential? He's paid a lot of money to bring in players and develop them. Not just 2 players but a team of players.
  18. If that is the link he should have said 6th least experienced team in D1 not the 6th youngest. A team that starts 3 juniors is not young.
  19. Why did he leave SLU? Did he not want to play for Majerus? Did Majerus not want him?
  20. 6th youngest team in D1?? You got a link to that??? The Bills started 3 Juniors, a sophmore and 1 freshman last night. That is hardly young by today's standards. What the heck makes you think this team would be top 30-40 with WR and KM? They are good but they are not that good. This team even with those guys would be lucky to make the NIT. The talent level is awful.
  21. Doug Wagemeister, the coach at Farokmanesh's junior college who is quoted in the article, played for Soderberg at Loras. I would guess the recruitment started with Soderberg.
  22. Other coaching news, Todd Lickliter was fired today by Iowa.
  23. Bearvision have Georgetown and Georgia Tech offered him a scholarship?
  24. So that's it. Tommie and Kevin were better players but their numbers dropped off because Ian was gone? Actually with Ian not taking shots Tommie and Kevin's numbers actually should have went up with them becoming more of the focus of the offense. But for some reason that didn't happen. And how does that explain Tommie's drop in rebounds under Majerus? Was that Ian being gone also?
