  1. Biondi needs to tell Majerus to make his decision. Give him till the close of business today enough screwing around. Either you want it or you don't. Let us know so we can move on or have a press conference.
  2. You are right! It just shows what happens when you are put in a situation where you have the full resources from you school. Our coach has to pay his own cell bill to call recruits how bad is that.
  3. I was a billiken fan as a kid, my father got me hooked. My first vivid memory was when I was 11 for the 85-86 season the freshman seasons of Roland Gray and Monroe Douglas. Competing in the midwestern collegiate conference against Xavier. My favorite player on those teams was Pee Wee Leonard. Does anyone know what happened to him? My Biggest thrill as an Eighth grader was the game against SIU inthe 89 NIT when we blew them out of the water.
  4. Who cares about the CRYN" ILLINI. What does SLU do that ILLINOIS doesn't? Play SIU.
  5. Who cares about the CRYN" ILLINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. You do not get it it's a whole dept. problem. The baskball program has been spinning it's wheels for years, and still appears stuck in neutral. You wouldn't no it though because there is not alot of coverage of it in the local media. The local paper will never do a story or asessement on the state of the basketball program. Examples such as what the problems are, where they start or what is being done how it can be fixed. The post will never do it because they have to do their excellent overkill coverage of the Cardinals: Such as Why does Pujols eat with his left hand instead of his right. If the Post-Dispatch would discover there are other sports in town besides BORING baseball. This is what happens when your in a one newspaper town.
  7. Are you close enough behond the scenes to actually know what's going on? Yes, the recriting and xand o's are brads fault. The problem with the athletic programs goes beyond basketball has anyone seen the deplorable baseball facilities SLU has. The basketball program should be able to generate the kind of revenue to balance the budget and help some of the lesser programs. Just remember when one person in a group fails the whole group fails.
  8. No I still do not think Soderberg is the man for the job. Father Biondi also has shwown he is content with the status quo. He has the final say not anyone else, just like when people were always blaming dal maxvill for the cardinals problems in the early 90's it wasn't dal his hands were tied it was the brewery. The fish rots from the head.
  9. The bottom line is this. We can sit here on this bulletin board and hash it out all we want, but the bottom line at the end of the day Father Biondi still has the final say. He preaches academics over athletics this is true. Father Biondi doesn't care about the athletic programs. The one I feel sorry for is Cheryl Levick What can an athletic director do when her hands are tied. You can only have so many car washes and bake sales.
  10. Roy that wasn't the entire news conference. Did you notice in the article he hasn't delivered on any of his three things.
  11. Yeah Roy that's it everyone is out to get SLU. Slu is never part of the problem it's always eveyone else's fault. It's not that I fail to see the big picture it's that you fail to admit that this program is stuck on the road to nowhere and can't find the on ramp to success.
  12. Why because Slaten has the balls to tell it like it is.
  13. I am referring to Cheryl's interview with Slaten.
  14. Roy you of all people should be able to find the transcript from his introductory press conference with all the insiders you have at SLU. AS far as me finding another team I am A SLU fan I just don't want to give to a program that just doesn't give back. Judging from the amount of students that don't attend their games I'm not the only one. Why do you think they only want 10,000 seats in the new arena to make the small crowds look large. In regards to me hanging up why bother debating them all they do is tell you how wrong you are. Slaten is right when he says SLU is irrelevent. Monday on BOB's show kevin called in saying they wouldn't fire Soderberg and Bob Earl and Brian were just ganging up on him. So you will never win an argument with them. Bob is Slu what John HAdley is to the cardinals never a discoraging word. Why can't they all be like Slaten. After hearing her interview with Slaten last week it is obvious she is nothing more than a puppet for father Biondi I lost alot of respect for her after that interview.
  15. You say I have too much time on my hands. Well it's obvious you do to if you sit on here and talk about my call to the coach. As far as me staying on the line and waiting why bother so they can turn into John hadley and give me their homeresque perspective of how wrong I am. Coach never even answers my questions he just moves on or says thats a good Question or thats a good point. What should I expect from a coach who says "I don't have an answer for this. I don't know what to do."
  16. I was a season ticket holder till last season. I decided to take a wait and see approach as to weather or not I would renew and after the failures in last springs signing period, that was all I had to see. Billiken Basketball can truly be 40 minutes of hell for us and 40 minutes of bliss for the opponent as was the case Friday night.
  17. They don't look at the big picture. When the University on their website says it was a successful season this tells you that there are no expectations. Sodeberg will never be fired because of this. Roy not evrything is rainbows and buttercups. If you are buying their B.S. than I have some swampland in Jersey I'll sell you. Once again Roy their is a reason Wisconsin didn't keep Soderberg and hired Bo Ryan. Oh I forgot they wanted Rick Majerus, But after he backed out Soderberg was still out there for them to bring back. But the Division 3 coach was a better fit than the D-1 asst. who was familiar with the program. Who said this? I will have this team in the NCAA tournament in 5 years. Give up. Brad Soderberg at his introductory news conference on April 12, 2002. Or My Favoite I want a top 50 program did he really mean top 150. Roy aren't you the one who closes his posts with the Disney quote it's "Fun to dream the Impossible." Which is the big picture of Slu being consistantly good.
  18. Bauman the body of work over the last five years speaks volumes. As far as the job of LaRussa last year he had his complete team for the post season. This team not only needs coaching but they need talent wich seems to be lost on Brad. He should have never been hired in the first place because SLU supposedly did their national search, and judging how fast he was hired there was no search. Food for thought Soderberg said tha was Romar who missed out on Falker, but if i'm not mistaken he was assitant on his staff in 01-02. So he is just as much to blame as Romar, or did Romar not give his assitants any say in matters of recruiting. AS far as me calling the call in shows if you don't like it don't listen Somebody has to break up the stroke fest that is the coach Soderberg show. "Winning is not a sometime thing it is an all the time thing." Vince Lombadrdi the ##### kicker. Not like soderberg the ##### kisser.
  19. Moytoy. He's not badmouthing he's stating the obvious. Sometimes criticism is a good thing.
  20. Athletes who can play basketball. What Slu has Basketball Players who are not very good athletes.
  21. No moytoy it's at team problem. For A school that has such High academic standards how come its the same stupid mistakes. It's always mental.
  22. Back in 1976 during the Buccaneers 13 Game losing Streak The Coach was asked what he thought of his teams execution on a sunday afternoon. His reply right now I'm in favor of it.
  23. Our honeybadger looks like a honey bear.
