  1. Yes, let's all judge from a 1.5 mb compressed video piece. O_o I'm sure that's what SLU sent MSU when they found this in the first place.
  2. The news last night had the TV feed side-by-side with the Scottrade Center Daktronics feed, and that was a lot more clear. I don't know how exactly they expect a miniature cut from a big video to show anything. If they want to put the video up, they should've put a high-quality original-size version up. Or atleast put the side-by-side versions.
  3. >I'd still rather have a "win" than a "loss". Do you >honestly think this whole fiasco is going to change that >much with the committee? Considering that our 21 RPI didn't get us in last year, I'll take all we can get.
  4. Nobody expects the game to be overturned, so I don't know where that came from. It just goes to show that it's unfortunate we had to bring our own TV broadcasting crew since nobody in St. Louis cared enough about SLU to do it themselves. The red light is what counts, and in Savvis' OWN IN-HOUSE BROADCAST, the red light goes off before the tip. There's no confusion here. I really hope this is the first time you might've noticed that the TV clock doesn't always match precisely with the game clock. Unfortunately, this is probably one of the only times that 0.1 seconds off actually mattered. We know it's a technical loss, but from now on your win has been turned into a "win." The selection committee will know it, and we will know it, regardless of whether SLU still thinks it won for real.
  5. >"It's good, boys." > >That's all I needed to hear. > >You guys should come to St. Louis this weekend - there will >be 3,000 Poplar Bluff fans here for Friday's game and you >hicks will feel right at home. Yeah, it must feel good to keep trying to insult and brag about a win that wasn't real.
  6. >Well then Barry can make himself look like a bigger idiot >then he already is. When was the last time u went dancing? >Like u should talk. Yes, because coaches often call radio stations asking to be interviewed right then. O_o Don't worry, I'm sure the ESPN.com article will be great.
  7. >Unless there is a video of the offical clock, the one above >the court it doesn't matter. One clock says one thing, >another says something else. This is truly sad on your >part. It is embarrassing really. > >I think the most disturbing fact is that mostatebear is a >reporter. So much for objectivity. > >You lost and get over it. ...MoStBear isn't a reporter, sorry to tell you. That was an e-mail sent by a reporter. Barry was just on an Omaha radio station getting interviewed about it as well. Like it or not, this news is going national, as well as your "win."
  8. >All things considered, I'd rather have the win, thank you. >Back in your den, please. It would seem that you did get the win. It just isn't much of a victory. And it's not going to be considered against MSU, it would seem.
  9. >That would suck for both sides. The Bears probably wouldn't >get the call overturned, and SLU would have an empty win. So.. guys. This is the response e-mail from a newspaper reporter: "Yes, I am working on a story for tomorrow’s paper. I have seen the replay, copy of Scottrade Center in-house feed. Watched it with Barry. Shot was clearly late according to clock behind the backboard. Bad news is, there’s nothing that can be done to reverse it now. But if people at NCAA are made aware of it (MSU does plan to send the NCAA a copy of the tape) then it might help some at tourney selection time."
  10. That would suck for both sides. The Bears probably wouldn't get the call overturned, and SLU would have an empty win.
  11. As long as nobody is PHYSICALLY hitting me in the jaw while I'm there.
  12. >You look at their preseason write ups and their roster, >other than Ahern nothing jumps out at you. They don't have a >team of McD AA's and would guess not one of their players >would be considered a high recruit. Hell, we figured BA >wasn't good enough for us. Most are in state kids appearing >to be from small hs's. They aren't loaded w/ height, in >fact they play a 6'6" PF much like us. What's up w/ these >guys? granted they all returned from last year, but are they >an example of a coach making a great machine out of spare >parts. And that's not intended as a knock on any of their >players. Anyone know how they're accomplishing so much? They >are ranked 27th in the country. Let's put it this way. If SLU ONLY worries about Blake Ahearn, then they will lose. The difference about this team is that it can make substitutions and not lose anything. The depth is outstanding. Actually, at Letsgobears, we were worried about too much depth before the season began.. hah. But the different combinations of players available, especially with not losing much inbetween substitutions, makes for a constantly fresh and very good shooting team. I.E. It's not only Blake that can hit the three; Shane Laurie, Spencer Laurie, Dale Lamberth, Tyler Chaney, and even Nathan Bilyeu can hit the three as well (Those are the ones you'll most likely see play anyways, Fuehrmeyer doesn't play too much). It should be a good game.
