  1. Yes I was at that game. It was nice seeing the team, I think they played well. I understand your point about Polk, u know how I read all the post and responses first and just summarize my input ..it's definitely good to be back.
  2. I agree to a certain extent. DP has game. I'm just afraid that trying to incorporate the coach's philosophy is hard and unfortunately everyone doesn't grasp it like that. I look past the missed shots and look at how the player shoots, or not shoots for that matter. I believe all the guys were recruited for their talents, and capabilities, those characteristics should be incorporated into the coach's philosophy. I know u guys will think i'm always hard on the coach, but the players rely on the game that got them thus far, of course their game should develop with experience but often times what happens is that the player's role changes so much from what they're used to that, their shots don't come easily. Going back to Reg..Reg was an all around player, he played a lot of the 3 in High school (behind Juan Dixon), With Karl Crauser at St Thomas More his game was to cut to the basket and slash, with Slick passes and he had big men who were ready to score if he missed..of course he could hit threes, but he wasn't reliant on his 3 pt shot just yet..he was a stop and pop..while at St Thomas More, then at Villanova his role was to hit the 3's, put points on the board and make his free throws..he lead the big east along with Gary Buchannan in FT% at one point., Mike Bradley was the go to man for NOVA so again REG's role changed he became better at his outside jumpshot, then he moved onto SLU, where he wasn't recruited to be the Go to man (Marquee was the man), Reg was thrown into that role later on and I would say wasn't physically prepared. With varying styles of coaching I feel he lost the heart of his game, the part that got him all those scholarships and began playing the role for his coaches. I know for a fact he never played his best basketball at SLU and you guys unfortunately only saw an inkling of what he can do. It's hard to play your game, when u have many different people telling you what your game is or should be and needless to say if u're hurt. I say don't give up on DP, i remember many on this board praising POLK, just because his shots aren't good don't give up now guys. Though I was the one of few that continually said DREJAJ should and would start over POLK, which I think is right..I'd say give POLK a chance to get it together, unlike Reg, he has had the same college coach and should be well prepared for his next two years at SLU, that makes a big difference.
  3. Hey everyone, Reggie is doing well, he did have offers to go abroad, but decided against it. So he's working ,rehabbing and preparing for the Summer...will keep u posted. I got my password mixed up when all the hacking went on, and we got emails to change our password, I changed it and could not remember what it was..but I've continued to read the board, just couldn't post..
  4. Ask him if he has incorporated each players talent into his style of play? Afterall the guys were recruited because of their talent, and is it hard trying to fit their talents into his style of basketball? (lack of trapping, less fast breaks and drives to the hole)Will he make any adjustments to his coaching style?
  5. It's been so long since I've posted, I've forgotten my password have been trying for over a month to request it but not recieved, so I did the next best thing, re-registered..anyway.. U guys know what I think..I think preference should go to AD after all he's been there he's put in the work. Yes he's been hurt, but he keeps the team going, just my opinion. I agree that Danny is good, yes he mounts turnovers, but that comes with his game, yes it can be a liability but there are ways the coach can deter that. I do like the offense/defense scheme (subbing)..when are we gonna face it, everyone has a different game, comparing Danny to other players won't work..I was at the GW game and I thought he played well, yes turnovers were great, but again he played well. What i'd like to see is for the guys to develop the basketball savvy on their own. During that game every player on the floor looked to the bench (the coaches) for guidance..it has to be some independant thinking going on out on the court as well..(I don't know if it's confidence or if it's restrictive) whatever the case, I didn't see it. I thought it would be more shots taken, but overall it was a good game. Refs had some questionable calls. Overall I like Danny and Drejaj period..i think they both should get good time in the games..at least I know neither are afraid to shoot and that's what SLU needs. For some reason, and hopefully it will be received as an objective opinion since Reg isn't there anymore, but it still seemed to me as if the coach wasn't really allowing the team incorporate their own individual games into his style, it still appeared that he was trying to mold them to his style..that may work, it may not (hasn't worked so far, but eventually it might), I don't know but it's a hard transition for players so mistakes will happen and I don't necessarily see that it's all on the players. Coach should do some adjusting as well.
