  1. Top 4 remain close together. In my book, Michigan should be #1; and I expect them to be by the time seedings come out.  But we'll see.
    Of interest to the Bills:

Florida St rose two spots to #11.
Houston tumbled four spots to #21.
Seton Hall down to only 6 votes.  In comparison, the #25 team has 116.  So, they aren't even close to being ranked.
Long story short, come selection date, I seriously doubt we're going to have a 'marquee resume-building win'.  The best teams we've played ended in a blowout loss, and the loss to Houston.  We get zero credit for close losses.  Plus, if we'd have beaten Houston, they wouldn't even be ranked now, so that conversation is moot.
We just need to do our business.  I still believe winning the conference regular season (as long as its not with over 4 losses) gets us in.  That's where my sights are set.  I can't pin our postseason hopes on winning three games in the A10 Tournament.

I hope French is okay. Having someone else shoot FTs is not enough of a benefit if having him healthy is the cost.

    26-18 after a Hankton 3.

Oh I agree. I was waiting for him to be ‘stretched out’ and back in a minute. This clearly isn’t the case.

    Those shirts are pretty awesome.

I didn’t attend St. Mary’s but I grew up and still live in South City.

If you find out the my sell them out it on the board. I’d definitely go get one.

They have some pretty cool gear actually, but not that shirt.  I bet if you emailed, they'd consider adding it to their store.  Once the design is created and paid for, it's a heck of a lot easier and cheaper to order more.

I think the fact that VCU barely beat a 3 win team has more to do with it. UMASS moved up 8 spots after their loss. If we keep winning we'll keep climbing. If we win a little more convincingly then we'll climb quicker.

    Style points matter.

I agree with your statement.  That being said, I think I remember hearing that 'style' points only count up to 10.  So whether you win by 10 or 110, it counts the same.  Could be wrong, but I swear I read that.

Anyone know where the "victory" bell went?

I don't know what happened, but I saw it on the ground after a game earlier this year.  Looked like it broke off.  Don't know if it was vandalism, or just poor construction, or what.

I bought one of these a few years ago...but it was nowhere near as expensive.  I want to say it was $120 retail, even cheaper on sale.  But it's good quality.  I love my set.

Thanks 747! I think I got the last one, as it showed only one left in stock.

I was just able to buy 2.  Tried to buy 4, but it said stock was limited to 2.  Since they are being shipped to the stores upon ordering, I bet you can still get some.

This will look nice combined with my ugly Billiken Christmas Sweater.

Do we use that light anymore? I notice its not blinking the morning after a victory... Can I be responsible for lighting this baby up if that person has since quit?

Willing to do this for free. Let me know AD

They’re still lighting it after the game. I look for it while leaving after every game.

im guessing it’s just not left on all night.

Hear, hear. The Big Dance is still a possibility this year. Losing Gordon obviously hurts but the A10 is thin compared to seasons past. An A10 tourney win is still attainable. How sweet would that be?! Grab a few big men commitments in the mean time and I'm a happy camper heading into the summer.

I agree that being in 'the tourney' is still a chance...I'll even say a likelihood.  However I feel a guy like Gordon could make the difference between being a 13 seed that is bounced game 1 and a SLU team that is a ~9 seed that could have a decent chance to help propel us to the second weekend for the first time.

Would I love to see SLU's first recognized Sweet 16?  Of course!  Would I love to see SLU openly maintain that they only recruit/retain players that uphold the 'Jesuit Mentality'?  Of course as well.

But at some point, if you want both, you have to take chances.  Gordon was one of those chances.  If we're burned by it, so be it.  It's not like this is out of the blue.  Now, lets hope we can still recruit and win to get to a level of success without having to sacrifice our moral objective.

YES I know that sounds lame re: Sit 1 &2.  Let the past die.  Build from it, and hope that the teenagers you recruit are smarter.  At the end of the day, you cannot predict what will happen with high school kids.

If you're gone, good luck CG.  If you stay, be humble and learn from your mistakes.

    As always, Go Bills!
