Does anybody know why Rob Loe has a cast on his arm?

Did anyone see the Burwell comments in his "Upon Further Review" video segment on Stltoday? He mentions a source that says Fox is working to convince the Big East to still go to 12 members for the 2013-14 season, which would presumably mean good things for the Billikens. Haven't seen any other recent discussion of this possibility.

What would you do with recruiting? Postpone until a new coach is hired or sign what is likely to be lesser quality kids? Lot of openings -- 3 this year and 5 next year.

Did anything interesting come out of yesterday's golf outing?

I think we have the potential to have an excellent team next year but have an obvious hole in the post. I agree Manning will eventually be a very good player, but it's hard to believe he'll go from essentially no playing time in conference to a solid starter in one year. Not trying to rip on any of the existing players, but I think we have a unique opportunity to go fairly deep in the tournament in '13 with a strong inside prescence.

Anybody have any insight into the Bills recruiting a big man for next year's team -- maybe a juco player? I know they technically don't have any scholarships, but I'm sure they can work that part out (sorry Roy). We're really going to miss Conklin.

I am a fan. But, let's face facts. This team cannot shoot, and that has become a trademark of the Majerus era. The sophomores and juniors don't shoot any better than the freshmen, so it's not really a question of youth. What do the Aussies/Kiwi add, and why are we recruiting more? The Billikens are not just bad; they're extremely boring.

Does anyone know if he is considering SLU? If you've seen him play, how would you describe him? I'm concerned that the recruiting trail is going cold for the Bills.

My guess is Kwamain will be re-admitted but won't play until next year. I don't think the powers that be will let Willie back after the publicity his dad generated. Curious what others think.

Any idea whether Kwamain is leaning toward redshirting?

I heard a tape of Rick Majerus on 550 this morning. He was bemoaning the anonymous nature of committees and their unpredictable rulings. He said that some people hide behind committees and was obviously concerned that Mitchell may not be approved for reinstatement. He said he has zero control over the process but reiterated that he continues to stand behind his players.

Billiken Roy -- why don't you just jump off that bridge of yours?

I heard Kevin Slaten saying that Majerus has been talking to Depaul. Has anyone else heard anything about this? Would be closer to his Mom and a better conference, but that program is a mess. He is clearly very unhappy with the travel/conference. Seems surprising he has been this vocal with the program apparently on the verge of really good things.

I noticed he hasn't been playing much for Washington -- only averaging about 5 minutes and 1 point, and he's only played in 11 of their games. Does anyone know if he's hurt or why he isn't playing more? Would SLU be interested if he wanted to come back home?

It's nice that he gives away tickets, but he could create far greater goodwill by doing the postgame radio show more often. He also missed his radio show last night, although they said he was under the weather. I know he prefers to focus on the team, but a big part of the coach's job is promoting the program.

Any word on how the visit from the big Aussie recruit went? I searched Colorado and Wake Forest message boards but couldn't find anything. Anybody have any thoughts on how likely he is to sign?

While the band does a great job, I think we could rev the crowd up further with some additional music during the game. Ideas include: 1) Jump Around -- see You Tube videos of Wisconsin football or Miami (Ohio) hockey. 2) Sweet Caroline sing-along -- see You Tube video of Fenway Park. I think I've heard this after a couple Billiken games, but it would be more effective at some point in the second half when everyone is still around. 3) Mixing band music with current popular music (e.g., Low by Flo-Rida, Stronger by Kanye West). Does anybody have any other ideas, or have you seen things that work at other arenas?

It may have already been reported here, but I just read that Soderberg is returning to Wisconsin to coach high school basketball at Merrill. Quite a step down, but at least he won't have to recruit.
