  1. Is he the one that is coming to Saint Louis for a visit or is it someone else. He would be a great pick up for the team. I’ve read some articles about him and he seems like a great player. He is 6'8 and can knock down the three. I can really see Brad trying to get him coming up the weekend. The only question is his health coming into next season and if he signs with us will he have to red shirt because of his injury. Sounds like he would be worth the scholarship if we can pick him up.
  2. This is what I like to see out our coaches. We come of a terrible year and he is still able to pick up one of the best wings in the area. I hope that Brad is finally getting comfortable in St. Louis and is now beginning to put together a NCAA tournament team. I am finally confident that Brad will be able to pick up some Bigs to go along with our guards.
  3. scout.com expects him to go Prep School. Sounds like he could be a good pick up for us.
  4. Im hearing St. Louis name a lot more than what we have heard in the past from recruiting. I am impressed that Brad is now offering more scholarships than what he has to give. This is a positive sign that St. Louis basketball maybe making a climb back to a superior team. Names I have so far are Jarod Leonard, Justin Maguire, Jonny Hill, Jeff Ryan, Cory Johnson, Devan Bawinkel, Joevan Catron, Ty Adams and George Goode-class of 07. Im Hopeful that we can pick up some of these players and start to build a tradition going into the new arena.
  5. Darren Clark should have nothing to do with his decision. Cory to me would be treated almost like a prince if he came to SLU. Darren was practicing against a lot of good guard just to get playing time. Cory will be practicing against project players and maybe a Juco player who he could probably beat when he was a junior in high school. So I would not see him having any problems getting playing time. If he came to SLU then I would have to say that we will have a very strong team in 06-07, DP, KL, TL, CJ, IV.
  6. What Juco, prep or transfers are left that we can pick up. I’ve know that Kewain Gant has been looking at SLU. Who else is out there that we have a shot at.
  7. I don't know why we can't sign decent big men but if Brad doesn't pick up a decent 4 or 5 next year than were never gonna win that many games. I also don't see why brad has to find a big man who can shoot the three. We have three guard who will be shooting the ball from deep and i don't see why we need a 4 is needed to do this to. Just get a 4 or 5 who can pound for pound out play the other opponent and can get rebounds and be able to finish. Were gonna continue to loose close games because the other teams have the more talented big men and that will be the difference. The time to build this progam is now so maybe the players who we promised will be able play in the new arena. I would go after a high school 4 or 5 who is a three or four star who will be ready to step in and control the paint. I would also pick up eathier a prep player or a JUCO 4 or 5 who is highly talented and will be ready for the college game. This is nothing against Brad because I think he is the right person for the job but we are in for somemore loosing season and some more close losses if our post positions don't have talent.
  8. It might have been for Cory Johnson. He is a 6-7 SF from Duluth MN. Rivals have him at a three star. Sounds like a lot of big time schools are after him and it might be impossible for Brad to get this guy. He has some interest in St. Louis. http://jucojunction.rivals.com/viewprospec...y=24965&sport=2
  9. I am actually happy that we did not pick up X. Not because he is not a good player but he is not the best player that we could pick up at this spot. Jarod Leonard to me seems like a guy that would be a great fit in our system. Plus he has a extra two year at SLU to get use to the system as opposed to X who only would only have 2 years maybe three. I would love to see TL at point, KL shooting guard, JL at small forward and pray that Brad can find a 4 and 5 that can contribute. I hope we get JL and start to build this program back to where it should be. No winning equals no recruits that means nobody wanting to watch St. Louis basketball and no money for the new arena. I say lets pick up JL and have an all "L" backcourt.
  10. Looking through the rivals website and came a crossed on this guy. He is a 6-8 Juco power forward from Missouri. He is interested in St. Louis, Southern California and some smaller schools. Not sure how good he is but I think we can take a risk and give him a scholarship for 2 years. http://jucojunction.rivals.com/viewprospec...y=32354&sport=2
  11. scouthoops.com reports that Saint Louis has some interest in Jeff Ryan. He is a 6-6 SG,SF from Glenview, IL. The report says that he is an outstanding student-athlete who plays hard and can make threes. Is it just me or does it seem that he is everything that Brad would want in a player. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=1865324
  12. Is the arena going to be called St. Louis University Arena or are we going to have a company buy the rights to the name of the arena. I think we should do what Xavier did and have a company pay millions of dollars and get the arena construction started. All we need is for the company to cover the 45 million that we need to start construction.
  13. Does anyone have any word on how the fundraising is going. Do we know how far we are from breaking ground or is the arena years away from being built.
  14. I give brad a lot of credit for get TL and KL from the bigger schools. He has recruited a bunch of guard who will give us the deepest backcourt in the A10. Our record this year and question about our on campus arena every being built must be making it hard for Brad to recruit the 4's and 5's. I say give him one more year to get the record back in the winning column and show the rest of the 2006 class that SLU basketball is on the rise. I can't really see why we can't be above 500. Our conference schedule is not gonna be as near as hard. We have TL and KL who are both ranked near the top 100 in the 2005 class. IV improved tramendously over the season. DP, LM, DB have a year under them and should be adjusted by now. VN and JJ have improved over the season. We are also taking a tough defense into a new conference where for the exception of Dayton hasn't been seen by any other coaches. This alone sould be able to pick us up a couple of wins. I give Brad one more year to take a winning record and more information about the arena to the recruiting table and bring back a couple Bigs to lead us in the upcomming years.
  15. As I look through the available PF and C in the 2005 class, On insider hoops site I see that there are still some 3 star and 2 star centers out there who haven't had a college looking at them. Im just wondering if these players don't have the grades for college. If they do i think that Brad should pick up one of these players. He could redshirt him a year to adjust to the college hardwood. Brad or any of his assistance are out there reading this, take a chance and get one of these players. There must be a reason that they are a 3 star or 2 star and we should defiantly pick one up.
  16. The report is that he is headed to a A10 school. Anyone have any other information on where he is going
  17. This past month we found out that David Palmer and David Neal have both selected other schools. DC has decided to transfer to another school that opens another scholarship. We might pick up Xavier Price but that still leaves us with 2 scholarships and a Big hole in the paint. With almost all the big men gone from the 2005 class there is not much to choose from. The best thing would be a transfer that has some talent come to the bills or a well known over seas big man that will help us out but with are luck that not realistic. Ive been looking at who Brad has recruited for the class of 2006 and i am very surprised. I love Jarod Leonard and he might be a great player but he is a SF and that is not what we need. We already have LM and TL who can fill that spot. I am also wondering why we are trying to get Bobby Hill. He seems also to be a 2 maybe 3 and i only see this being a wasted scholarship because he would be on the bench most of the time. If i were the coach i would take the 2 maybe 3 scholarships and get 2 good power forwards and one good center.
  18. Where will SLU end up at the end of the A10 season. I think that this is another one of those rebuilding year but not like the one we just went through. I see us around the middle of the A10 west rankings. I see us finsishing behind Xavier, Dayton and GW in the west. With the possibility of getting Xavier Price, David Neal or someother transfer that has some talent my prediction might change. Also depends on who is staying and who is leaving for the draft. If Curtis Winthers and the two players for GW stay in the draft then there is a possibility that we could be a top team in the league. This also depends on what injuries occur during the season. I am very excited about the upcomming season and can't wait to see how we do in the A10
  19. reading through the scout sight there is a 6-11 center from Glyndon Minnisota. Adam Holtne is a 2 star but there is no mention of Saint Louis recruiting him so i don't know if he is the guy brad is recruiting.
  20. Does anyone know how Brad runs the weight room and conditioning. Does he have the players in there every day or is it not manditory in the spring. JJ and IV could really use a good spring and summer hitting the weights and the conditioning. JJ and IV has some talent but need to get bigger and faster to battle with the elite 4's and 5's in the A10.
  21. I don't think we have a good chance of picking up a decent PF during the offseason but I hope that Brad is working real hard for the class of 2006. I don't see David Neal comming to SLU because or the big time schools recruiting him. This is Brad big chance to throw all of his recruiting time to land a big time 4 or 5. I really don't think we need to recruit a 3 because we have plenty of guards who can fill that spot. I am really happy with all of the guard that he has picked up in the past few year but we need a 4 or 5. I like JJ,VN,IV but they won't be around for to much longer. So Brad keep the 3 scholarships and get a head start on the 2006 4 and 5's.
  22. I am also surprised to see that Pat Ewing Jr is transferring out of Indiana. Is there any chance what so ever that he could end up at SLU.
  23. I was wondering if anyone else had any information on any of these guy and to see if anyone knows anymore forwards who are going to transfer. I read a post on here that says that Brad might be looking for Division II Juco. The transfer from Minnesota was given a scholarship so they must have saw something in him. I don't know about you cheeseman but i would rather have a player who has had some experience in the Big Ten than some DII Juco player who has played against poor compition and will never develop. Also why are we looking for DII Juco players? Is SLU that bad that we have to get players from DII
  24. I was reading a page on ESPN and two forwards from Colorado St have decided to transfer. Phillip Thomasson a 6-7 sophmore and Stephen Verwers a 6-10 sophmore both are available. Also there is a 6-8 forward from the Minnesota Golden Gophers who is transferring. I was wondering if we have any chance of pick up one of these players or are there other transfers out there that we could get.
  25. I will be a freshman at SLU next year and i can't wait for the basketball season to start. I can't believe all of these basketball recruit pages. I have no idea why Tommie Liddell is not a 4 or five star. It seems like he can shoot the three, take the ball to the hole, play point if needed and he can throw it down with athority. I just don't get the three star that they have put on him. Is it because he is left handed or somethin because in my own opinion i think he has a shot to be even better than Larry Hughes.
