  1. Now the Illinois message board is claiming they’re in the driver’s seat for Nesbitt.
  2. Do you remember which segment this was in? Thanks for the recap!
  3. All of these seem very plausible, but obviously I hope #3 is the main reason. I would think that even being short an assistant, they would be putting more offers out there if they weren’t feeling confident in the ones they have out there. I don’t think any program wants to get out of the fall signing period without a single commitment when you have multiple spots to fill.
  4. He went up 31 spots from their last rankings. That’s a solid bump.
  5. One of the insiders on the Illinois Board says that their staff is now "full throttle" on Nesbitt's recruitment. Hopefully Ford can get a commitment soon.
  6. After checking out Illinois' message board on almost a daily basis these last few weeks, it really is amazing how they truly think that Illinois has to be the top choice for any recruit they're going after. If they don't get them, the other school MUST have paid for them. Apparently even SLU has quite the reputation for cheating, according to their board. If that's the case, I wonder how much players like Brett Jolly and Bryce Husak cost us?
  7. Checking out Illinois’ message board today, it seems like they may be missing out on some of the wings they have been pursing. Some of the posters think the staff is pushing hard for Nesbitt now since he hasn’t committed yet and some of their other targets may be leaning elsewhere.
  8. Corey never answers any of Frank's questions when it comes to recruiting and scholarships. I wouldn't read much into that, although it would be nice if Andre could get here soon.
  9. He didn’t go into a lot of the detail about the roster. Lorentssen was never mentioned.
  10. Tate was on Frank's show today and said that Russell has really stood out in practice and is showing that he can play at this level.
  11. Some pub from The Athletic today... https://theathletic.com/2024750/2020/08/27/mid-major-mailbag-beware-saint-louis-program-climbs-the-wccs-rise-and-more/ Could Saint Louis’ Javonte Perkins be one of the surprise stars of college basketball this year? Despite coming off the bench last year, he still averaged 15 points per game (and more than 18 in conference play). Yet many college basketball fans have probably never heard of him. — Andy T. Jordan Goodwin and Hasahn French get most of the attention for the Billikens, but Perkins was the Atlantic 10 Sixth Man of the Year and led the team in scoring during conference play. Things really seemed to click into place for him in the second half of the season, which shouldn’t be too surprising since he was a junior college transfer adjusting to Division I. He had six games of at least 24 points from Jan. 17 on and became the guy teammates looked for in big spots. He led SLU in made 3s. Travis Ford’s team looks absolutely loaded, with French and Goodwin back after averaging double-doubles, Gibson Jimerson returning from a broken foot and Yuri Collins and Terrence Hargrove Jr .ready to expand their roles. As such, Perkins’ star potential may be limited because there are so many talented players around him. But if Saint Louis has the kind of year I think it’s capable of having, people will know a lot more about him and the other Billikens.
  12. Frank spoke briefly today about the Nesbitt situation. Nothing new to report. He said SLU is waiting and hoping to get a decision soon. He predicted that if Nesbitt and Kern commit, Ford and the staff will be done recruiting for a while and will hold that last scholarship for a transfer. Sounded like that was just his assumption though, and he has not heard that.
  13. Thanks, @Pistol. You're probably right. I just thought the commitment from Russell and lack of offers for Kern might get him to commit sooner. He also seems to be pretty tight with Nesbitt (judging from social media), so I wonder if a commitment from Nesbitt could help as well.
  14. @Coach314, any word on Kern's recruitment and when he might be looking to commit? I would think the addition of Russell will help SLU's chances.
  15. Ross Chaifetz just started following Nesbitt on Twitter and most of the assistant coaches are liking all of his tweets lately. Has to mean something, right?
  16. Derek Piper from Illini Inquirer is now predicting Nesbitt to SLU on 247.
  17. Here’s an article about Larry Jr. and Lebron Jr. The article talks a little bit about Larry’s recruitment stating that he’s looking at K State, Purdue, Ohio State and NC State. The author assumes he’s leaning toward K State right now and never mentions SLU. I wouldn’t read too much into this though. He’s making a lot of assumptions in this. https://www.sportscasting.com/bronny-james-faced-off-against-the-son-of-lebrons-former-teammate/
  18. That’s just a prediction from a subscriber. According to Verbal Commits, Kern doesn’t even have an offer from K State.
  19. FWIW, looks like an Illinois reporter from Rivals is now predicting Nesbitt to SLU. That’s now five in the last few days between 247 and Rivals.
  20. On his radio show today, Frank said he thinks there's a chance Nesbitt commits this week. He has spoken to sources close to the situation and things look great for SLU. Also, he has called Jordan and Corey Frazier to visit his remote broadcast tomorrow. He hadn't heard back yet at that time (just before noon). I'm guessing Frank's trying to see if Jordan is willing to announce his commitment on his show or talk about it right after he makes the announcement, but he didn't say exactly why he invited Jordan and Frazier out there.
  21. Eric Bossi from Rivals has predicted Nesbitt will commit to the Bills... https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/starting-five-bradley-beal-elite-challenge-more-impact-decisions-coming
  22. We also had the Eric Bossi article last week that ranked the contenders and listed SLU as the favorite. It really seem like there’s a lot of smoke around this right now. I think Nesbitt said he was looking at committing around Oct. 1 in a previous article, but maybe that’s changed with the dead period extending to just before that (Sept. 30). As far as previous predictions for SLU, I remember a Duke insider predicting Torrence Watson would commit to SLU a few years ago, which he was obviously wrong about. That’s the only other one I remember though.
  23. Nesbitt has his first crystal ball prediction from 247. I think everyone will like it... https://247sports.com/Player/Jordan-Nesbitt-46057260/
  24. Looks like Jordan is playing today... Eric later tweeted that he meant “beast” not “kid.”
