(Caution:  123 words for those counting ... which is six sets of hands and toes and then some ......)

First, Brannen was a thug.  Now Dykstra is in some "off the field Hall of Fame for worst people."  All I'm talking about is an example of how one team's fan favorite is hated elsewhere.  I will admit to hating Dykstra when he played for the Mets.  I absolutely loved him in 1993 with my Phillies.  I have no real knowledge of his off-field issues although I will admit to hearing something here or there.  Some others I "hated' on other teams --------- Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Wendell Bennett, Kurt Rambis, Dennis Rodman, Bill Laimbeer, Cam Newton, I could go on.

The point being the point.  Oh look a forest.  Naw, that's just a bunch of trees and, oh, you're a fawna racist..

How can one hate the great Larry Bird???

Relying on input from Taj and Rothstein, but not Katz, here is my (pre any unknown injuries) order of finish in the league:

    SLU / SJU / GMU / DAV / UMASS / URI / RICH / VCU / DUQ / DAY / SBU / GW / LAS / FOR.

That's it-that's the way it will be!!!  On my way to Las Vegas.

If you ever find yourself in the southeast sportsbooks are now open in Biloxi.

I’ve seen Marble play.  He was hurt the last half of the season.  He played on a great dallas Jesuit team who lost to Tyreese Maxey (Kentucky signee).  Marble needs to add weight but would be a nice player for SLU.  He has a very good point guard playing with him this season and dfw is loaded with talent this upcoming year.  I’m with pistol in that he will hold out for big 12 offers.  Def worth watching, he’s way better than the last dfw billiken Remekun.

I have a nephew that is a current student at Jesuit...I'll see what he knows about him.

What do folks on here know about former Billiken Don Braun (finished his career at Kansas apparently)? His son Christian is making some noise this summer playing with MoKan and there is some speculation SLU is one of the programs showing some interest. I watched MoKan a few times this past weekend and kept finding myself noticing his play, he really impressed me and I didn’t know anything about him prior. Plays for KS powerhouse Blue Valley Northwest and seems to have those gamer/winner qualities (same program the Loyola kids, Ben Richardson and Custer, made 4 straight state championship games at).

I know he attended my alma mater Thomas More Prep in Hays, KS.

  5. Calm down Donald Trump. "Low energy" doesn't actually mean anything. He didn't perform at Alabama. I get it, I think he's a better coach than a lot of other people mentioned

Low energy means something to me. In this case it means that he didn't get the students or graduates involved or excited.

  6. Southern Schools do well in all the warm weather sports and as far as gymnastics go well big schools dominate it.

People here were excited when Grant was hired. He had an enormous budget, he was surrounded by national champions in other sports, he didn't produce. He didn't seem to have any excitement, he was low energy.

Avery Johnson already has the program headed in the right direction.

  7. I think kshoe's assessment is spot on.

I also agree with roy ---- what did Parcells say --- buy the groceries to prepare the meal ---- this is all now Crews' making. With the loss of Carter and Drew, this is all Crews. He has the advantage of larry72's point of the last vestiges of the great HOFer and then off he goes. While the situation was not ideal, as he moves forward, the circumstances could not be better for him.

I think he said "How do you expect me to cook the meal if I don't buy the groceries?"
