So if Jimerson breaks the all time scoring record, he’s for sure gotta have his jersey retired, right?

I don't think SLU retires numbers, but they hang jerseys of special players.  Number 24 is already hanging at Chaifetz

I loved Fr Stark. It sounded as if he had the voice of God. But mostly it was because he came to my local parish to help say the funeral mass of my father who passed when I was at SLU. I will never forget that.

I did not really know him, but my daughter did.  He performed the wedding ceremony for my daughter and her husband.

My philosophy is the exact opposite of this.

SLU in over 100 years has had three top ranked recruits, Macauley, Boushka & Hughes.

If we could keep one of those guys for 4 years fine, invest the money.  We in no way need a top recruit to field good teams.  Our best teams have had a collection of 2-3 star recruits.  We don't need one NBA player, we need 5 guys on the roster capable of being Euro pros.  You get 5 guys like that and we are winning A10 titles and making tourney runs.  That is what we had with the good spoon teams and that is what we had with the good Majerus teams.  These type of players are much easier to acquire.  Simply ignore the top 50 STL recruits.  We don't get any of them no matter what.

Where is Bob Ferry on your list?

I read an article on Few a few years back. He’s been offered by P5 schools but said money wasn’t much of a factor in staying at Zaga. He likes his life in Tacoma and is very comfortable. Money isn’t everything.

    That's quite a commute

With NIL, Ford’s sizable recruiting prowess is devalued. Billiken Victory Fund is the recruiter, largely. Sure, you can’t be a jerk, but NIL does the recruiting work for you.

Therefore you need a coach who can teach players and strategize games. I don’t know who that is, but I’m confident it isn’t the present coach.

I appreciate all the work he has put in and definitely wish him well wherever his future endeavors lead him.

If the NIL does the recruiting, then how about put the money it would take to buy out a coach and hire a new one and put it in the NIL and hire good players?  (Not my original idea, but Frank's on Channel 5).  All the money that would be needed for a new coach would do a world of good to get better players.  I wonder how many of the "voices for change" on here have ever or will ever contribute $25 to the Billiken Victory fund.

  6. A map was posted somewhere here today that showed Texas Tech as one of a few teams in the country that had not won a conference game.

Guess what.  TT was losing at home by 23 in the second half and came back to beat #13, first place, Iowa State by 3 in overtime.  You never which team is going to jump up and bite you on a given night.
