VTIME
I have to commend our big man Phil Stewart. He played all 40 minutes with a broken hand and didnt get embarrassed inside or beat down the floor by the fresher players. If we get any of our big guys eligible next semester we should really be a force, and we should still be competitive. We played without 6'3 guard Dustin Fox too, who averaged 12ppg last season and our 6'9 big man Aaron Jones who averaged 9rpg last season. We arent great, but we dont suck and we'll be able to play with anybody at our level if/when we get some more guys eligible. Kenny Lee will be better too when he gets his legs back. He was just cleared to play and had to start today because we dont have depth. Melvin Martin our leading returning scorer from last season came off the bench tonight, but couldnt get untracked. Congrats to SLU, they did their job and the walk-on looked good too. Big Phil was outstanding though playing the whole game with a broken hand and battling for rebounds and staying out of foul trouble.
Sheltiedave
Tip o' the hat - your guys hustled and played with spirit. I agree with your assessment...at least three or four would be starters on SLU's team. Drejaj would be the eigth man on HS.
VTIME
Nah, last year's team was better than this year's team. We have zero depth and Drejaj would start for us this year. Probably at the 4, he's physical. All our guard's last year averaged double figures. Drejaj wouldnt have started last year, because it was a speed team strictly. GOSLU68
good to see the crowd of students and parents interested in HS-we hope they come back-maybe SLU could offer student tickets to everyone under 21 Five bucks for rafter seats if the new owners don't charge too much.
