Stemler tallied 16 points Wednesday as SWIC nipped John A Logan College 63-62. The win was the 26th in a row for SWIC, which ended the regular season ranked eighth in the final NJCAA poll. SWIC, ranked first in Region 24, will host Kaskaskia at 7 p.m. Monday in its postseason opener. Because he was chosen as the Player of the Year in the GRAC, Stemler will be nominated for NJCAA first team All-American honors and is assured of being at least a second team All-American.
