3star_recruit
Vashon beat Rolla in the first game of the Webster Groves tournament by 49. They got off to a 38-2 start by pressing Rolla's weak ballhandlers and getting out in transition. Coach Irons pulled the starters with about 3 min left in the half and the undermanned Rolla squad managed to pull within 40-8 at halftime. Vashon's starters played the third quarter and left the game permanently 3 min into the fourth quarter. Polk was the old Polk, beating his man easily off the dribble, dropping dimes and burying at least four-three pointers, one from NBA range. The best assist of the night was an alley-oop that Polk threw to Muse off a between the legs dribble. Muse had at least four jams for the game. Vashon has a 6'7 freshman named Raymond Harrell that has more basketball skill than Muse, IMO. There is no Jimmy McKinney-level scorer on this team but this Vashon squad is REALLY good. Nate Latsch
The freshman Floyd Irons is really excited about is Leon Powell. He's a 6-foot-5 forward and Irons told me he thinks the kid can be the next great player to come out of Vashon, like Polk, McKinney, etc. - Nate
