Taj79 Posted January 12, 2006 Share Posted January 12, 2006 For what its worth ... at some point in last night's second half, the GeeDub PA announced went through score updates from around the A-10. Nothing unusual or out of the ordinary to report. However, later, he announced "Other Local Scores Of Interest." I found this to be interesting .... because in each case, he did the scores this way: "Maryland 52 .. Duke 76." "Georgetown 60 .. West Virginia 68." After each score, the Smith Center erupted. it made me think of hte silly arguments that rise up here over Saint Louis and Mi$$ou. Or Saint Louis and Missouri State. It seems to me that every "lesser' local program takes glee in the failings of the larger, state U. program in the area. i owuld offer that we are no different that our various compatriots elsewhere across this country. But I've never seen it so blatant (of course, I may never have paid attention much either) as it was at thje Smith Center last night.
