A-10 Update

The A-10 had a brutal start to the new year going 3-10 since New Years Eve. There were some close losses in there including Richmond in OT vs. Wake Forest, Xavier in 2OT also vs. Wake and Dayton at New Mexico by 2, but losses are losses and it hurt the RPI fairly significantly.

Prior to the weekend, the A-10 was ranked 4th and is now 5th, just barely ahead of the Big 10.

If you look at the RPI Predictor, which predicts where the conference will finish once the regular season is over, we've gone from finishing 6th, ahead of the Pac 10 to now finishing 8th, just ahead of the MVC.

There are still a few more non-conference games to be played but largely the average RPI of the conference is set. Absent our views and hopes for SLU, the best the conference can hope for is for Temple, Richmond, RI, Dayton and Xavier to distance themselves from the pack. Parity will be the enemy of the at-large hopes for the conference.
