  1. Is this game being broadcast online somewhere for the out of Missouri fans?
  2. I guess the honeymoon is over?...Or the marriage won't be consumated until next years class shows up. I love metaphors!!!
  3. I was wondering the same thing. I followed the game on gametraker and I thought my connection was slow or something because his name never appeared?
  4. Has DM been getting major minutes as was speculated to see what his potential role could be on the team?
  5. http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/10429441 Sportsline has the A-10 9th in power conferences and the Bills predicted to finish 6th "The good: SLU made one of the marquee hires of the offseason when it lured Rick Majerus away from ESPN. He inherits a roster that is headlined by Tommie Liddell and Kevin Lisch and good enough to challenge for a postseason berth, if everything breaks right. The bad: The loss of Ian Vouyoukas in the middle will be tough to ignore. He averaged 12.4 points and 7.4 rebounds last season, and there isn't an accomplished option to fill the void. The bottom line: Majerus has won 422 career games while never enduring a losing season. That's proof that he's one of the gifted technicians in the sport and reason enough to believe he'll maximize this roster and then get the Billikens in position to compete for A-10 titles as soon as his recruits start enrolling and that new on-campus arena is completed."
  6. All I can do is laugh when I read this article. First I can't understand how this "mystery blogger" can claim Ian got owned by Tyler Hansbrough. Anyone who watched that game caught a glimpse of what Ian was capable when he knew all eyes were on him. I checked the box score for that game Tyler- 15pt and 13 reb, Ian-14pts 13 reb. In the end, that UNC team was just deeper and more balanced then we were (which is evident in UNC having three starters, and one man off the bench score in double figures as opposed to our two double digit scorers). Then this same blogger goes on to acknowledge that Ian was a legitimate enough scoring threat to merit double teaming which open things up for everyone else on the court. Damn talk about a flip flopper. Although I love the prediction of going 28-2, I could do without the hate on former players, and players who we have yet to see play significant time i.e AK, and DM. other small issues I had: "Adam Knollmeyer, and a soft Dustin McGuire, two players that came to SLU because no other coach in D-I would offer them a scholarship" If I'm not mistaken AK originally verbaled to Mizzou or at least was offered a schollie there so... "Recruiting problems under Soderberg will haunt Majerus this year, much like the Ty Willingham recruiting era at Notre Dame. " Who was the one to recruit Brady Quinn again? Oh yeah.... Aiight that's enough from me. Check ya fact sheet homie!
  7. Wendell is Saint Louis University's version of Notre Dame's Rudy. I will be working on getting the script together for that film. Be on the look out for it!
  8. The purpose of my post was not to give playing Wendwell's value above that of Dustin. The primary purpose of my post was to voice my displeasure in not letting Wendell see more then 57 seconds at the end of the game. I would be just fine if he reiceved 57 seconds to start the second half. I mean at that point we were still up by 20 points. I'm also not disputing that getting a higher seed should not have been a priority last night either. I just found it disheartening that the he waited until things became hostile and we had to regain our composure near the end to finally let Wendell in the game. Another poster mentioned that at the Division 1 level players tune out everything they hear out on the court and are only focused on the game at hand. I dispute that claim. Homecourt advantage is an advantage for a reason it is used to rattle opponents and boast morale for the home team. With all that occurred less then a couple weeks ago at Rhode Island (if those claims are true) it just changed the way I feel about Brad, and leaves me to wonder if that influenced Dell's playing time.
  9. I think the one thing that upset me more then anything that occurred during Senior night is seeing who got more playing time then Wendell...Dustin Maguire. When I saw him enter the game, and play ahead of Wendell and even Adam Knollmeyer that is when I became infuriated, with all do respect to Dustin, I was under the impression that he was recruited for his shooting touch. Earlier in the season when he got minutes he looked scared and had a shot release that still needs major overhauling. He's not even the best freshman on the bench. I'd give that to Adam. The reason I believe the game became close near the end is because of the action or rather inaction of Brad to put Wendell in earlier. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I noticed the chants for Wendell begin with about 18 min left in the second half, and it was sporadic for about the next 5 minutes or so. Then with 11 minutes left, and still no Wendell, that’s when I notice the atmosphere in the arena change, to a more hostile environment that favored Richmond rather then Saint Louis. I can’t imagine anyone on that bench or on the court could not hear the chants for Bennett. I theorize that the players on the court were probably wondering the same thing. It most likely became a distraction to them and thus led to their sloppy play. Had we lost that game due to this distraction I would not blame the chanters in the crowd at ALL. How is Brad not going to play Wendell in front of his mother, sister, and brother. Only to hear the chants and begs from the crowd to let him play. Let him play coach, let him play! That is the only time that I have ever been embarrassed for the program. I hope Brad make amends because last night was complete crap!
