Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. >I plan to get to some games to see all three play, but from >what you are saying, Eckerle sounds like a prototypical >Soderberg recruit - tough on defense, all out play, and from >what I hear he is extremely bright. I would love to see us >land him. Plus, if I remember the stats correctly, he is >shooting about 46% from the three. > >"A strong man stands up for himself; a stronger man stands >up for others." - Ben Come out to the Washington Tournament and see both Eckerle and Suggs in action. If I'm not mistaken, it will be Suggs first game back. Come out early for the gym will be packed! Eckerle is coming off a poor night against St. Charles West and Soderberg. Probably a combination of an off night and the great play of Soderberg. For those that don't know, Eckerle is Luke Meyer's cousin, number one in his class (or close to it) and the hardest working player on the court every night. He's one of the tallest 6'1" players you'll ever see. You can come out too Cheese! Borgia at Washington ( 1-9-07 at 7:30 )
  2. paul has great potential and he is LM's cousin. same work ethic as luke, floor smarts and everything you look for in a player. but i'm sure the experts on this site, and there are many of them...just read their posts, will find fault with paul.
  3. Becareful what you wish for in Suggs. He's a good player, but not sure if he's Div 1. I've watched a few of his games, and I'm not sure how good he'll be a couple of years. But, he's only a sophomore, let's don't rush him.
  4. i too have watched quite a few of borgia's game that moosemann and eckerle star on. remember, i'm LM's whinny hometowner:) i also don't think mooseman is a good fit for the bills. They have enough able small guys. i do, however think paul eckerle is, if he grows a couple of more inches. he could make an impact in a few years. btw, he's luke's cousin and a junior. eckerle is more athletic than mooseman, at only 6'1", he routinely take the tip off against much taller opponents. the kid can flat out jump! he has the floor intelligence of LM and has luke's aggresiveness. To be honest, these kids are typical, Borgia players. Shuggs also has a ton of talent, especially as a sophomore. I've been lucky to be able to see a few washington games also. I don't see the competitive nature the borgia kids have in Shuggs, but maybe I haven't been following him close enough. People in town say he's a good kid. I look forward to seeing him play for another couple of years. here's a name to look forward to: Gavin Wiss. He's 6'9" and still growing. Great kid, that is still learning. Would be playing as a Freshman at Lafayette if not for Tyler Griffy. Keep an eye on this one. Remember, you heard it hear first!
  5. >i will love the guy when he starts acting like "the voice of >the billikens" all the time instead of about a three hour >period that covers a billiken game. > >just once stand up to slaten for the billiken fandom bob. Slaten is an A$$! They should have thrown him outta St. Louis back in the early 80's for that asine act at the St. Louis Steamers game when he got into it with the opposing player when he was the game announcer. Why do people listen to his crap?? 590 is much better off without him.
  6. >Great win for this young Bills team. It's good to see them >win one of these finally!!! I thought IV really battled and >worked and found some different ways to score. AD is the >glue for this team. LM had some great hustle plays tonight. >KL stepped up with the huge shot. At the risk of sounded like a Hometown fan that will embarass LM with all my whinning, this is the type of play we in Washington have been used to seeing from Luke for years. He may be a little slower than others and his shot may be too low, but what you get from him is a great effort, always working hard and a team player every time he gets on the floor. Congratulations Bills!
  7. well said cheeseman, and whomever said luke would be embarassed is correct. he is a class act! there's nothing wrong with wanting a local boy to do well. i never wanted to come across like i thought lm was the second coming of christ and a savior to the program. but, he can contribute. also, i agree, he must earn his playing time.
  8. look what tseugnekillib had to say in another post "btw, your complaints about Luke's lack of playing time is exactly way some coaches prefer to have their reserve players come from some out of town place like Montana, Utah, Texas or Minnesota......less family/local grief, moaning and bitching." maybe this is why dartmouth is recruiting this kid, that's his reasoning, not mine.
  9. remember when luke, dwayne and tommie were the future of the program last year? they were the 3 players that were to put the program on track. luke was not recruited to be a reserve. yes, i'm a luke fan, have been for many years. give him 30 minutes a game, some patience, and you'll see. a program doesn't need players that run and gun mindlessly. see the missouri program! it needs smart, team players!
  10. Just saw the Iowa box score and no mention of Luke Meyer?? Is he hurt, in the doghouse or just AWOL? Seems the Bills could use his shot at times like this. I wonder why Soderberg is giving Lisch so much playing time as a freshman when he didn't have patience with Luke last year. BTW, saw Soderberg's kid play a couple of weeks ago, he has a great shot! Maybe the coach is waiting a couple of years until his son is able to play at SLU and hit those 3's!
