  1. I also found this on their message board. I have no idea how legit this is.
  2. Yeah, I was just kidding about us stepping up our games. The amount of tweets recruits get from Illini fans is borderline scary. I just checked out an Illinois message board and they had the same story posted. I enjoyed seeing this response... He had some nice things to say about Illinois...but some REALLY NICE things to say about SLU.
  3. That's how I've felt for quite a while. Looks like he likes it when fans send him messages on Twitter. Maybe our fan base needs to step up our games? On the plus side, he seems to like the players on SLU's roster and the fact he would be close to his family.
  4. Eric Bossi from Rivals just wrote an article about Nesbitt's recruitment that's free to read. In the article, Jordan discusses the programs that are recruiting him the hardest. Nesbitt discussed a few of the programs that have been making pushes. Alabama: "I love the way they play because that's more how the NBA plays now. They get in transition, they shoot a lot of threes and get up and down" Illinois: "I love Illinois. They have a great fanbase. You get messages from their fans like every day. Direct messages and all of that, they really love their school." Iowa State: "They had the big guard Tyrese Haliburton so that is appealing. I feel like I could maybe play like that and be at a position like him if I could go there." Memphis: "They haven't offered yet but they have really stepped it up and are talking to me a lot. Coach Penny (Hardaway) he's a real cool guy, a down to Earth guy and I talk to him a lot and ask him for pointers about my game." Saint Louis: "That's just home. All of my family could see me play and it is family oriented. I know all of the players so that's great." Seton Hall: "They've been coming really hard lately. Even though they have more of a system they allow freedom to play your game."
  5. It’s behind a paywall that I couldn’t read much of, but according to a story on Rivals, Nesbitt is planning on trimming his list in the next few days. Hopefully SLU will make the cut.
  6. Here are some short blurbs on Kern and Nesbitt... https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/sunflower-showcase-kern-on-verge-of-breakthrough-fears-a-2023-to-watch
  7. No recruiting news, but here’s a tweet about the two priorities for the Bills...
  8. @Coach314, any updates on the Russell situation? When Frank had Coach Tate on his show this week, they acted like a new player will be joining the team soon for next season. I assume they were referring to Phil, but they didn’t say who since it’s not official yet.
  9. Frank mentioned that this new addition would make the team 13 deep next year. Maybe his math is off, but I assume this means that the new addition will not be taking a basketball scholarship since Okoro has the last one and is redshirting next year.
  10. Here is the segment: https://www.spreaker.com/user/11374414/071320-4pb?utm_medium=widget&utm_source=user%3A11374414&utm_term=episode_title
  11. Coach Tate was a guest on Frank's show today for a 30 minute segment. Frank asked if Corey could see the entire 2021 class (3 scholarships) being local. He said absolutely and that the talent in the St. Louis area is A10 championship/Final Four caliber talent. Frank also mentioned that the program might have an addition soon for the 2020 season. Corey didn't argue that fact. I think all signs are pointing to Russell there.
  12. Appreciate it, @Reinert310. The other three you mentioned are much better sources than me. I just stalk people on Twitter.
  13. Dang, I knew that was too easy. Do you view them as the toughest competition for Nesbitt?
  14. I’ve been monitoring Illinois’ recruiting because it seems like they will be the stiffest competition for Nesbitt (My assumption, I have not been told this by anyone). They already have a commitment from SG Luke Goode and lot of their insiders are anticipating a verbal from SG/SF David “Deivi” Jones very soon. If Jones commits, I would think that would take them out of the Nesbitt sweepstakes. Plus, Illinois has been pursuing in-state SG/SF Brandon Weston as well, whose high school teammate Adam Miller is joining the team this season.
  15. Pistol would know better than me, but Ford said in an interview that they are really focusing on local recruits for this class. It’s even possible that the entire class could be from St. Louis. Frank has said for months that Nesbitt and Kern are the priorities for this recruiting class. I would assume he’s been told that by the coaching staff.
  16. Russell decommited after SEMO fired their coach. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was also interested in seeing if he could land at a bigger program after having a great senior season.
  17. Frank said on his show today that the hot rumor right now is that SLU is working on a way to get Russell on the roster. He didn't act like anyone is leaving though. He also said that Tate continues to work Nesbitt very hard for 2021.
  18. I don’t believe that was covered. If so, I missed it.
  19. This doesn't exactly fit in this thread, but Frank said on his show today that Tate is being promoted to Associate Head Coach.
  20. Every time I see an update in this thread I’m hoping Nesbitt has announced his finalists and SLU is in it.
  21. I really think Nesbitt is the biggest domino for this to happen. Apparently Kern, Hughes and Reed are already fans of the program. They got in early on Martin and it sounds like they are in good with the DeSmet bigs. I feel like if you sell Nesbitt on staying home, the others will fall into place.
