  1. What is there to respond to, your friend's son's impressions of the intelligence of MU's players? I'm sure all of the billiken student athletes are brilliant and all of Mizzou's student athletes are borderline brain dead. Is that about right? I'm not aware of courses offered strickly for football and basketball players. I'd be surprised if that was true.
  2. I don't generally start slinging mud, but I'm happy to do my part when a few of you take pot shots at Mizzou.
  3. The coach of the year inherited 7 scolarship players.
  4. No, it's real simple. A year with very little expectations going in exceeded all expectations. We beat Baylor, an elite eight team, three times. We split with final four bound KU. We hung a big 12 tournament championship banner in the rafters. Yes, Norfolk State was a bummer. Not like we haven't dealt with that before. Despite losing a lot of talent, we have a lot coming in. Go check out the Mizzou, Illinois game if you want to see who is important to college basketball fans in St. Louis every year. That must drive you crazy. I know it drives your attention ***** of a coach crazy, that's usually when he starts running his mouth about Mizzou, when he sees the full house Mizzou/Illinois gets every year.
  5. While I sincerely congratulate SLU on winning a game in the NCAA tournament, I'm not sure a 1-1 record is something to gloat about. Then again, considering your hiatus from participating in the tournament for 10 plus years, I guess it is. Congrats!
  6. Yeah, but you get so much Mizzou talk here without all the traffic.
  7. Sure, you roll with the punches. I'll put Mizzou's NCAA tournament record up against SLU's any day of the week.
  8. Your hatred of Mizzou is bizarre to say the least. It needs no validation. Mizzou is moving onwards and upwards. It now has 33,000 students. Even in these trying economic times, it has had record enrollments the last few years. It is excelling in every way, academically and athletically. Go ahead and hate, it makes no difference to Mizzou!
  9. Honestly, we are basically a middle of the pack or slightly better football team in the Big Funny stuff, Roy. Only a keen intellect could come up with something like this.
  10. Missouri is joining the premier football conference which encompasses a relatively new geographic area. Missouri is not only marketing to prospective football recruits, but to prospective students. Isn't that one of the reasons SLU joined the A10? Has SLU done any marketing in the east since joining the A10? This stuff isn't rocket science, but then again I understand you are a SLU grad (presumably).
  11. I'm pleased you guys are discussing our football program and its marketing efforts. Here's an article about it from the Atlanta paper: http://blogs.ajc.com/recruiting/2012/04/18/new-sec-member-does-something-big-to-catch-attention-of-georgia-recruit/ Here's my favorite part, which is head coach Gary Pinkel's explanation as to why Georgia recruits might be interested in Mizzou: "What is Pinkel’s sales pitch to Georgia’s prospects? “The facts are, in the last six years, we’re eighth in the BCS with winning in the nation. Those are facts. We’re certainly one of six teams that have won eight or more games in the last seven years. So we win at Missouri, and we consistently win. Over the last six years, we’ve graduated 96-percent of our players. Missouri is a great place and it’s a great college town with 33,000 students. Kids love to go to school here. We’ve got a lot to sell.”" It's a great time to be a Tiger fan. I'm glad you are focusing on us - a lot of people are! And Roy, the money from the $EC is going to be unbelievable! Think how much even Frank Freakin' Haith will have to inve$t in player$ It's upward and onward! Go Mi$$ou! Tough time to be a hater, but oh well, that's your perogative.
  12. Judging by the shack behind the billboard, I'd say it's a big improvement.
  13. Nah, You guys should be preseason favorites for the final four. Your coach practically invented basketball. No way Mizzou could hang with SLU.
  14. Yeah, he's fun to watch. I little maddening occassionaly with the ill advised three, but he's fun to watch. He actually plays defense, too.
  15. Can you imagine what the budget is at Kansas or, my goodness, Kentucky?
  16. I'm not counting any chickens, although I'd like to think there is enough talent on the team to be an NCAA team. As you've pointed out to me, the jury is still out on Haith. And who knows if any of these guys will defend. I think he's an @$$, but Majerus is a helluva coach, we all admit that, he knows how to get his guys to defend. Last year's Missouri team was fun, but they didn't defend anyone down the stretch, certainly not the mighty Norfolk State (or Southern, for some of you).
  17. Bell and Ross both appear profecient at placing the ball through the rim:
  18. THIS! Although it was Norfollk State. I think Norfolk Southern is a railroad.
  19. Almost everything I've written in this thread is tongue in cheek intended solely to piss off a select few of your regulars. What, am I going to come on here and gloat about losing to a 15 seed? I freely admit Majerus > Haith. I wish Mizzou played defense 10% of the way SLU plays defense and we might still be playing in this thing. There, I said nice things.
  20. Oh come on, you guys were dying for one of us to show our faces so you could type this: Norfolk State.
  21. Classy. I noticed you guys manage to piss off two fan bases during your deep two game run in the NCAA with your classless posts. I always expected a little more from such a sophisticated fan base.
  22. Do you know something Roy or is this just wishful thinking? I honestly don't care. If the Miami situation blows up on Haith, fire him and move on. I was, to put it midly, not a fan of his hire. I like how the team responded to him during the regular season.
  23. Now that you guys are the superior program, I assume you will drop your obsession with playing us in St. Louis so that you can generate some excitement for a change.
