I have absolutely no problem with your   Tennessee fandom. Your recent repeated post about how “Gonzaga is your favorite winning Jesuit school” has pissed me right the f*** off.
Why you post so much on your AT BEST third favorite schools message board is beyond me.

So folks cannot have a rooting interest in the NCAA...Hmmmm! After I explained I got on the Zags bandwagon when I lived in Seattle from 96-2000. I don't tell anyone on here who to root for(especially with our MIA from the Tourney Again). The topic on here is the NCAA Tourney. Pretty impossible IMHO not to have a rooting interest especially when I have seen the Zags play a number of times. Sheesh a lot of people on this website have serious issues...please get some help!

I get it ya'll got issues with Schasz but Barnes is a decent coach.  TJ Ford loves the dude that's enough for me.  He seems to be a class act and teams perform well not the best. He has 1 Final 4, 2 Elite 8s and 5 Sweet 16 appearances. I didn't realize his first HC gig was George Mason for 1 season before Providence hired him.

Don't fret about me A_Bomb as I never see the ignorant people who post about my rooting for UT. Frankly, there are lots of posts about Coach Barnes that are negative today on Volition. He will be ending a HOF career in the next year or two. His teams play very good defense but do seem to come up short on the offensive end as they did last night. Majority of right thinking SLU fans would be very pleased with the success UT has had over Barnes years coaching the Vols. You're right as his players like playing for him.

It is always interesting when some bold posters says "someone needs to....."  How about YOU DO IT.  If you feel strong enough to post this message, have the fortitude to do it.  Or, don't try to assign your task to someone else.

    May's contact information is

Chris May Director of Athletics 314-977-3167 [email protected]

HoosierPal...Why would one waste their time debating with Chris May when that person thought he screwed up both of his HC decisions. He was waaaaay to lazy to hire a replacement for Rick Majerus. He promoted Jim Crews who was on auto-pilot the entire time he was on the bench at SLU. Yes, he did take Rick's players to the NCAA's twice, but Majerus left him that anyone with coaching experience could have done that. What Crews did not do was telling...he did ZERO to build on what Rick left him so then May cans him after 2 bad years,

I was NEVER down with the Travis Ford hire. Why? I knew what he had done early in his career including the stint at UMASS. Then I looked closely what he did at his 8 years at OSU.  In 8 years he made 5 NCAA Tourney's and one NIT. He never won the Big 12. He won a total of 1 NCAA games and that was his 1st year. Pretty certain because he was recruiting to a Big 12 his talent was much better than any place else he's coached. He did recruit Marcus Smart to OSU. So IMHO he had enough talent to have won 1 friggin NCAA game. Count me as someone who may recognize talent. Gee I don't see that as a huge quality. His problem is being able to coach up the talent. Still is at SLU. One thing to get talent a whole different one to coach them to a cohesive winning team. So IMHO and I know we'll not agree Chris May reached and failed SLU fans a 2nd time.

While I know I won't change anyones mind on Ford thet like him. I thought I'd lay out why I think we are kicking the can down one more year in keeping him. If he fails next year I'm not wanting Chris May to make another dumb HC hire. IMHO he's 0 for 2 now!

Courtside said he was gone, that isn’t happening, get over it. May absolutely did the right thing, he got out ahead of the bs, remaining quiet would have been the worst thing possible. Better question, when is the group still pitching a temper tantrum going to stop whining and support the program?

IMHO it's fine to support and root for the team and still think the HC is in over his head and should GO!!!

True but the Cardinals don't say we drew 3 million but only 2 million were full price tickets.  If the plan for the Cardinals is to get butts in the seats it seems to work so why not for SLU.

However, the Cards ownership is heavily invested in Ball Park Village so Stadium Attendance is only part of the Revenue that goes in the pockets of the Cards owners.

    No I don’t.
Men’s BB is only one branch, yes a very important branch, in his job.

But I'm pretty sure it is the only one that provides the real revenue for all the other sports to exist. If Ford does eke this one out now and SLU has another year where they are once again watching the NCAA Tourney then both should get Fired. May's 2 hoops hires have done nothing to improve SLU hoops and he will need to go too!

For me personally, I will renew but I bet I go to about 3 games as opposed to 10 or so. From a financial standpoint that stance will have zero impact on the program. However, if I am apathetic about the team, imagine how the casual sports fan in St Louis will feel. This is a program already on the brink of irrelevance. Bringing Ford back and having him basically start all over, means you are ok with this team and this program basically being UMSL in terms of where it ranks among St Louis sports teams. Is that why they built Chaifetz?

I agree with you SLUDREW. I have no idea what the season tickets would cost that I had when I lived in St. Louis...they were in the same section as Fr. Biondi. I enjoyed going to the games back then because the team was very competitive. When you can't even beat SIUE at home their being competitive comes into a huge? mark.

You're right the casual fan who SLU needs to try and fill Chaifetz won't support a team that is not competitive. I applaud the booster(s) as we don't know how many want Ford gone. I hope they get the job done. Suppose OSU was lucky that back in the day they gave Ford the heave ho T. Boone was alive and since he had more money than God getting rid of Ford was zero problem.

People keep mentioning May...well he's the Turkey who hired Ford, and before that gave the HC job to Jim Crews after Majerus' untimely death so forgive if I'm totally unimpressed with his ability to make the correct HC decisions for SLU mens hoops!

It’s probably not a bad idea to have football only conferences, basketball only conferences, and everything else conferences. The Football only conferences deal with football tv deals, the basketball only conferences deal with basketball tv deals, and you have everything else in another conference. That way you maximize tv money for each sport, and minimize expenses for the other teams. However, given how the conferences have become marketing tools for the schools in them, I don’t expect this to happen ever.  The only way it would happen is if you were starting from scratch.

Problem with this notion is the P-5 schools are not only football schools but many have excellent basketball teams, baseball teams, etc. I do think the NCAA is pretty neat when you see a FDU(16) beat Purdue(1). I know it's only happened twice, but found myself rooting for FDU. Actually remember at some time in history SLU played them in hoops and I believe it might have been in the old Kiel Auditorium days. Also I'm positive many on here got a huge kick out of Princeton beating Mizzou.

I was literally at the Eiffel Tower in Paris when my cell phone started exploding with calls from the 314, that Rick Majerus had taken a medical leave of absence.  As fate would have it, many of us were at his last game as SLU Coach, a close Round of 32 Loss to #1 seed Michigan State and Draymond Green.

    Bay Area,

I was unable to attend that game in person but watched it and thought that Bills team was going to pull off the upset that day. I was super proud of their effort in that game. Green was a difference maker for Sparty. My very best friend when I lived in St. Louis was at the game and partied with the SLU contingent (guess they had a tent or something like that after that game. His daughter was a MSU Alum. Sure wish we had Rick at a much earlier time of his life. He was a terrific HC and was glad SLU had him for the time we did! Flew back home to watch the Bills play at Chaifetz while he was HC.

SLU needs to get into the Big East.

We agree...only caveat SLU must get better first. Last time they expanded they took Butler and Creighton. Butler was the one that sure surprised me, but they were arguably a bit better. Like I said before Rick Majerus death was very untimely for SLU. Had he lived long enough I'm pretty sure the Bills would be in the Big East now.

MY GUY, Tennessee has 5 star recruits averaging 5 minutes & <2 points a game with 4 star Walk-Ons warming the bench.

Your thought process is antiquated. The portal and NIL has changed the game completely, we're long past the time where a coaching change meant a full rebuild. Could we take a step back, maybe. But it's far less likely than I think you're estimating.

Hmm...Can you tell me who the current UT 5 Star Vols are averaging 5 minutes and less than 2 points a game. Their current roster has two 5 stars Julian Philips and Josiah James Jordan and both average more than 5 points per game. Julian is a Frosh and Jordan is a Sr. who has had some injury time out of the lineup. Also who are the 4 Star walk ons. They have 2 Frosh 4 Stars and neither get much playing time seeing as the roster has players who have been with the team 2 or more years.
