SETTING THE SCENE

Saint Louis welcomes the George Mason Patriots to Chaifetz Arena on Saturday evening. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

FOLLOWING THE ACTION

Saturday's game will be televised on Fox Sports Midwest. Pat Parris and former Billiken Troy Robertson have the call. Robertson played for the Bills from 1996-2000, helping SLU to the NCAA Tournament in 1998 and 2000.

The radio broadcast will air on 101 ESPN (101.1 FM). As always, Billiken Hall of Famer Bob Ramsey provides the play-by-play, while St. Louis American Sports Editor and all-around hoops expert Earl Austin Jr. handles the analysis.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES

Saint Louis (11-17, 3-12 A-10) begins a two-game homestand tonight to close out the regular-season home schedule. The Billikens welcome St. Bonaventure on Wednesday.

The Billikens were unable to string together consecutive wins for the first time in A-10 play as they lost to Duquesne in Pittsburgh 79-66 on Wednesday.

Milik Yarbrough leads the Billikens in scoring (10.6 ppg) and rebounding (5.1 rpg). He is one of six freshmen nationally who leads his team in both scoring and rebounding average. Yarbrough is 15th in the A-10 in field-goal percentage (121-240, .504).

Ash Yacoubou is second on the team in scoring with 9.3 ppg. He is also second on the club in rebounding with 4.7 rpg. Yacoubou leads the Billikens with 25 steals.

Davell Roby is second on the Billikens with 9.1 ppg in A-10 games. For the year, he leads the team with 53 assists.

Mike Crawford scores 7.0 ppg and leads all Billiken guards with a 49.2-percent shooting mark from the floor. Marcus Bartley leads the A-10 in 3-point field goal percentage in league games, hitting 49 percent (24-of-49) from long range.

Billiken head coach Jim Crews is in his third season at the helm. The back-to-back A-10 Coach of the Year is 66-31 in three seasons at Saint Louis, 420-379 in 27 years overall.

Saint Louis and George Mason are tied for 13th in the A-10 standings. The Billikens lead the all-time series against the Patriots 2-1. Earlier this season in Fairfax, Mason defeated the Bills 68-60. Last year, both meetings went into overtime with the Bills winning them both.

Saint Louis has advanced to the NCAA Tournament the last three years, a school record. Additionally, the Billikens are one of 10 programs in the nation that have advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons.

Up next, the Billikens host St. Bonaventure (14-12, 7-8 A-10 entering Saturday’s game vs. Duquesne) Wednesday night at Chaifetz Arena. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT).

RECAPPING THE DUQUESNE GAME

Marcus Bartley scored a career-high 16 points, but Saint Louis fell to Duquesne 79-66 Wednesday in Atlantic 10 Conference men’s basketball action at the Palumbo Center.

Milik Yarbrough led the Billikens with 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting. Bartley shot 6-of-9 from the field and 4-of-7 from 3-point range to account for his 16 points, which betters his previous high of 13 points (accomplished twice).

Reggie Agbeko scored seven points and pulled down a game- and career-high seven rebounds. Mike Crawford had a career-high four assists, while Austin Gillmann tied his career best with four assists.

SLU vs. GEORGE MASON ... LAST TIME OUT

Saint Louis’ second-half rally came up short in a 68-60 loss at George Mason on Jan. 29.

The Billikens, who trailed by as much as 12 in the second half, pulled to within five with 6:30 remaining but were unable to get any closer.

Milik Yarbrough and Mike Crawford led the Billikens with 12 points apiece. Yarbrough was 6-of-15 from the field and also gathered a team-leading seven rebounds.

Crawford finished 4-of-10 from the field and 2-of-5 from long range. He converted all four of his free throws.

Shevon Graham led the Patriots with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Corey Edwards (16 points) and Marquise Moore (15 points) also scored in double figures for George Mason, which snapped a five-game skid with the victory.

YARBROUGH LEADS TEAM IN SCORING / REBOUNDING

Freshman forward Milik Yarbrough is one of six freshmen nationally who leads his team in scoring and rebounding average. The others are:

Stanley Johnson, Arizona

Jahlil Okafor, Duke

Tanner Leissner, New Hampshire

Pascal Siakam, New Mexico State

D’Angelo Russell, Ohio State

In A-10 games only, Yarbrough averages 12.6 ppg, which is tied for 18th in the conference.

In all games, Yarbrough is 15th in the A-10 with a .504 (121-240) shooting mark from the field.

Yarbrough’s 11 field goals made at George Washington are tied for the second most by an A-10 player in league play this season.

Yarbrough was named A-10 Rookie of the Week Jan. 12 after averaging 22 ppg in road tilts vs. George Washington and Davidson.

YACOUBOU CONTRIBUTING IN FIRST YEAR WITH BILLIKENS

Junior guard Ash Yacoubou came off the bench for the first time as a Billiken in the URI game.

The Villanova transfer, whom SLU head coach Jim Crews lauded for his work ethic and attitude during his redshirt season a year ago, is second on the Billikens in scoring (9.3 ppg) and rebounding (4.7 rpg).

Yacoubou drained a career-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting in the win against Saint Joseph’s.

Yacoubou posted his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 boards against Duquesne. His other double-double came against Rockhurst on Dec. 2 - 11 points and 10 rebounds.

ROBY PLAYING MORE AGGRESSIVELY

In Atlantic 10 play, freshman guard Davell Roby is second on the Billikens in scoring with 9.1 ppg.

Roby’s career-high 16 points at Fordham led the squad. It was the first time he led the team in scoring this season. Roby matched that mark with 16 points in the win against La Salle.

During the nonconference season, Roby averaged just 1.7 “two-point shots” per game. That average is up to 3.9 per game in conference play.

ROBY PERFECT FROM THE STRIPE

Davell Roby hit all 10 of his free throws against Rhode Island.

It is the third-best perfect FT% in school history and the best perfect FT% since Marque Perry was 11-for-11 at East Carolina on March 8, 2003.

Here are the best free throw performances in school history (min. 10 made):

1. Maurice Jeffers, 14-14, vs. Missouri State (12/23/00)

2. Marque Perry, 11-11, at East Carolina (3/8/03)

3. Davell Roby, 10-10, at Rhode Island (2/14/15)

Ryan Grant, 10-10, vs. Chicago State (1/15/92)

Monroe Douglass, 10-10, vs. Evansville (3/4/89)

Roland Gray, 10-10, at Cincinnati (1/11/87)

REYNOLDS TO THE LINE

Miles Reynolds scored a career-high 21 points at Rhode Island on Feb. 14 thanks in part to a 13-of-15 performance from the FT line (and 4-of-5 from the field).

In Reynolds’ previous career high of 19 against North Carolina A&T, he went 14-of-18 from the charity stripe.

His 18 trips to the line in the North Carolina A&T game are still the most by an A-10 player this season.

Despite missing four games and averaging just 13.0 mpg, Reynolds is third on the Billikens with 85 trips to the line.

CRAWFORD IS EFFICIENT

Sophomore guard Mike Crawford leads all Billiken guards in shooting percentage (.492, 63-128) in A-10 tilts.

Crawford was efficient in collecting a game-high 15 points against UMass, finishing 5-of-6 from the field, 2-of-2 from 3-point range and 3-for-3 from the charity stripe.

Crawford is second in the A-10 (trailing only teammate Marcus Bartley) in 3FG percentage in league games (.469, 15-32).

Crawford leads the team in FT% (49-60, .817). That mark would be good for second in the A-10, but he does not meet the minimum requirement to be ranked.

Crawford had a string of 21 consecutive free throws made before missing his first opportunity at Duquesne on Feb. 25.

BARTLEY ON POINT

Freshman point guard Marcus Bartley has started 11 games for the Billikens in the A-10 season.

Against VCU at Chaifetz Arena, Bartley dished out a team-season-high seven assists. Bartley, who has hit at least one 3-pointer in 12 of the last 14 games, leads the A-10 in 3FG percentage in league games (.490, 24-49). Including all games, he is third in the league (.439, 29-66).

MCBROOM GOES THE DYNAMITE

SLU’s leading returning scorer from a year ago (7.3 ppg), junior guard Austin McBroom is third on the Billikens with 7.2 ppg. He is fourth in the A-10 in 3-point field-goal percentage (.433, 39-90) in all games.

McBroom has hit big shots for the Billikens in his career.

Against VCU earlier this year at Chaifetz Arena, it was McBroom’s runner with less than a minute remaining that put the Billikens ahead by two.

McBroom, who scored a career-high 26 points against Bradley, hit the game-winning 3-pointer against the Braves with seven seconds remaining.

It was McBroom’s 3-pointer with less than three minutes remaining against North Carolina A&T that completed a comeback and put the Billikens ahead for good.

Against Southern Illinois in the season opener, McBroom posted 24 points thanks in part to five treys. His biggest shot of the night came with 10 seconds remaining when he buried the go-ahead three.

Last season, McBroom hit a big shot late in a game at Duquesne. With the Billikens trailing by one with less than a minute left, he buried a three from the right side to give SLU the lead for good.

BLOCK PARTY

Senior center John Manning leads the Billikens with 22 blocks.

Manning tied his career high with four blocks in the first game against Rhode Island.

Manning has 70 blocks for his career. He needs six more to crack the Billikens’ top 10 all-time.

CREWS IN THIRD YEAR

Back-to-back A-10 Coach of the Year Jim Crews is in his third season as the Billikens’ head coach.

He is 66-31 in three years at Saint Louis, 420-379 in 27 years overall.

Crews was tabbed the 2012-13 UPS NABC Division I Coach of the Year, Sporting News’ National Coach of the Year and the A-10 Coach of the Year. He was a finalist for the Naismith Coach of the Year award.

He has been a part of 16 NCAA Tournaments as a player, assistant coach and head coach. Crews played on Indiana’s 1976 national championship team and also won a title as an assistant coach in 1981.

SCOUTING GEORGE MASON

George Mason University (Fairfax, Va.) is 8-19 overall and 3-12 in the Atlantic 10.

The Patriots have lost three in a row. They are coming off a 76-63 defeat at Dayton on Wednesday.

Shevon Thompson averages a double-double with 13.0 ppg and a league-high (third nationally) 11.7 rpg. He ranks eighth in the nation this season with 15 double-doubles. Against the Billikens earlier this year, Thompson scored 19 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.

Patrick Holloway is second on George Mason with 11.7 ppg. He has drained a team-leading 36 3-pointers. Marquise Moore, who scores 8.8 ppg, has dished out a team-high 70 assists.

Corey Edwards leads George Mason with 41 steals. He is second on the team with 62 assists.

Head coach Paul Hewitt is in his fourth season at George Mason with a 65-64 record. He is 321-253 in 18 years overall. He led Georgia Tech to the NCAA Tournament on four occasions, including in 2003-04 when the Yellow Jackets advanced to the NCAA title game.

Saint Louis leads the all-time series 2-1. The series began last year, which was George Mason’s first year in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The teams played a pair of overtime affairs last season, with SLU coming away with wins in both.

Go_Bills, you aren't going to set up the live stream :(

You have other plans?

Yeah, I'm currently on beale street with my girlfriend and her sister. Hence, why I posted the delay vlc streams. Apparently, fox sports Atlantic, central and Pacific isn't showing the game live.
