True story behind Jayson Tatum not committing to SLU
Billikids replied to Billikids's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
It's false, yet I talked to a player that said he heard the exact same thing, and that that's the general consensus among the team? Also never said it was Barnes that Tatum asked for a scholarship for. Was probably Michael Lewis. I fully agree that there's likely more to it than just that, and that there's more to the background of it all. But this is not "completely false" -

Right, that's what I generally understood from the guy. That there may have been more, but that whatever it was, Crews wasn't willing to give it up. -

THOUGHTS?

I've seen him in the regular rec a lot the last few weeks...even shooting around left handed

Did anyone else hear the rumor that Grandy's absence from the team is due to a post made on his blog back in December that criticized the team and Crews? Seems as though he took it down if it was ever up. Word from some of the folks in Chaifetz is that Grandy's been denied access to facilities (hasn't stopped him from trying of course). Interesting to see they'll still honor him tomorrow night.

Amazed and disappointed that none of you find a problem with Crews kicking a kid off the team not because his academics aren't good, but rather because he cares too much about his academics. It's not all about basketball. The point is to try and mold these young men. A lot of you can't see the bigger picture.

Freshman walk-on Grant Hollander was dismissed from the basketball program this week. Was a high school teammate of Jayson Tatum at Chaminade. Definitely doesn't help the recruitment of him.

Does anyone have info on Tyler Cook's recruitment? Unbelievable player. SLU could have a real chance, as he's playing in Tatum's shadow. I don't know how hard they've recruited him, but they should be. Can you imagine getting him and Tatum? Oh lawd
