BLIKNS Posted June 12, 2003 Share Posted June 12, 2003 Okay speculation about,you know,relaignment.Now seems the "big idea"is the BE will have 2-8 team divisions,one for football and one for basketball,will try to round it out..football-UConn,Louisville,Cincinnati,Rutgers,Pitt,WV,VT,and Temple?.Basketball-Providence,SH,Georgetown,Villanova,St.John`s,ND,Marquette,and Xavier.This is what I have seen speculated,or so maybe throw in ECU,Memphis,USF,etc.Why would a 16 team league be good?Money?This is way too big in my opionion,and the BE 5 Bball schools would still be lead around by football.If this were to work out,would C-USA still be where SLU would want to be?So C-USA would still have DePaul,SLU,Charlotte,Memphis,USM,Tulane,UAB,USF,ECU,TCU,Houston(Army for football).So a Bball league could form with SLU,DePaul,Charlotte,Butler,Dayton,Creighton,and ?(Detroit,SIU,Loyola,etc.Would Marquette drop us and DePaul?Who knows,but the dominos will start falling shortly,will Miami,Syracuse,and BC go to the ACC after all?
