Billiken Law
Listing to the Marquette/Grambling game on-line right now. All Grambling does is chuck up threes and it's keeping them in the game (MU up 17). Breon Rush, a 6-1 SG, will shoot it from anywhere (just made one from 23) and they are setting up a number of screens and double screens for him to get open. Something our guys have to watch out for. They like to run so tempo control is key (something Brad is a master at) and they press a LOT in order to try and control that tempo. Marquette has been able to take advantage of that by breaking the press and getting a lot of lay-ups. I think a 3 guard line-up with Reggie, Fisch and AD would achieve similar results. One other note, their PG is Maurice Seawright, who was a pretty highly rated player in Michigan who went to U of Michigan but was booted. Fisch will have his handful with Seawright (who doesn't look to shoot but instead just create and pass).
kwyjibo
I think Marquette got lucky that Grambling was looking ahead to their big game against Wiley College.
Billiken Law
actually, Grambling was just coming off a big win against Wiley College. I wonder if their mascot is the Coyote??? Final score was 71-55, hardly indicative of how the game went - Marquette had all of their starters out with 6 to go and played all 3 of their walk-ons. SLU should have no problem with Grambling, but they are better than NC T&A and Savannah State.
