bonwich
On KMOX last night just before 6 p.m., Mike Shannon reported from his vacation driving a Busch distributor's bus across Texas. He noted that his companion for the trip was our own former hockey cooch, the (seemingly immortal) Bill Selman. I used to run into Bill when calling on A-B ten or 15 years ago (in a piece of high irony, his office was a couple down from Dick McDonald's) -- but I'm relatively stunned that he's still working. I'm thinking he was into his late 40s when the team folded in 1979, which would have him pushing 70 by now. The moment they announce ice capability for the new arena, I'll write them a check.
