tseugnekillib
The A-10 conference has four of the 50 preseason candidates for the 2005-2006 John Wooden Award. They include: 6-6 Mardy Collins of Temple, 6-7 Steven Smith of LaSalle, 6-9 Nana (Pops) Mensah-Bonsu of George Washington University, and old friend, 6-8 Curtis Withers of Charlotte. If you take in the annual MVC tourney at the Savvis, Northern Iowa's 6-3 Ben Jacobson is the lone Valley candidate. Has a Billiken even been nominated for the Wooden award? SShoe
The only ones if at all would be Bonner or Claggett. Doubtful on both though.
cujaysfan
i am willing to bet that nate funk will be a nominee by midseason... if he picks up where he left off last season - he was arguably the the best player in the conference last year - and that includes two time POY darren brooks. both funk and jacobsen are outstanding players though... tseugnekillib
I don't know much about the award, but your suggesting that nominees can be added throughout the year....interesting. Two names from the Valley would be great!
