bonwich
We had many broadcast and web feeds coming into the newsroom yesterday, and some folks were getting a kick out of the many different descriptions of hail: pea-size, hen's-egg-size, quarter-size, golfball-size, baseball-size, softball-size. Then someone interviewed a guy from south county who said he'd never seen hail that big and couldn't really come up with a term for it. I figured the answer was obvious: Rammer-ball-size hail. Big enough to bash right through a corrugated-steel roof.
