I read an article in the East St Louis Journal about Martin being a strong candidate for a head coaching position. For him to make that leap at Purdue would be unprecendented. I don't think it's likely though. He was without a doubt one of the smartest ball players ever produced by the city. He really wanted Liddell, even before Xavier, but he was confused by Liddell's nonchalant behavior whenever he visited. He took that as Liddell not wanted to attend Purdue. On another note all of this talk about Liddell not qualifying has lead some wolves to indirectly get back on the recruitment of Liddell.
