I hope he gets multiple graduate degrees, plays in the NCAA tournament, and wins conference player of the year. Poor guy is a victim of SLU and the Pestello regime.

Bishop is not a victim of SLU or the Pestello regime.

Bishop participated in an orgy, allegedly participated in the filming of that orgy and allegedly posting it online.

Tell me how he is a victim again?

We had the consensus region of death. Every team in the region can mash the ball, and our vaunted pitching staff didn’t get it done IMO. I’m not sure I understand Darin starting Wark against Mo State after he struggled with his command in the A10 tournament and Reveno dominated the final.

Connor Lehman was phenomenal in relief against Ole Miss, 5 IP 0 hits 6K against an offense ranked in the Top 10 in front of a sold out crowd at probably the toughest atmosphere in all of American sports.

A Group of Death where SLU was the worst team being the only team that didn't win a game.

The pitching staff vaunted? They gave up 17/18 runs in two games.

    Vaunted huh?

In reference to Goodwin, I meant more along the lines of the sit down with Frank (and maybe a statement or something will come down the road), but yea I agree with most here. Frustrating stuff

Sitting down with Cusamano (who is a moron) is the last thing Goodwin needs to do.

I guess you want the juicy details?

Goodwin needs to play basketball and go to school and thank his lucky stars X his suspension wasn't longer.

So just how bad is the A-10 in baseball? At least we will see how we match-up with Missouri State tomorrow.

Bad. The Baseball team had a chance to prove how good they are.

They weren't up to the task.

How would you feel if your son or brother was wrongly accused and had his education and reputation taken away from him, simply because of the color of his skin, and the fact that he has a penis?

That’s where we are at with weathers and the rest of SLUs title ix office.  So GTFO of here you fake woke a$$hat. You don’t give a flying f*** about what’s right.

Then the basketball players shouldn't have put themselves in the position they did.

Dont participate in an orgy, film it and then post online.

The basketball players got what they deserved. Had they behaved better, they wouldn't have had a problem and would still be on the team. It is the PLAYERS fault in both instances.

billikenroy - just pay her off.

I was right in an earlier post where SLU fans are no better than Baylor. Sad.

SLU is a CatholicUniversity and needs to hold their athletes to a higher standard or they are gone.

  6. There was another POSITIVE article about SLU the other day about the baseball team making the NCAA tournament.

What? They only do negative articles. Or no article at all.

Then Jesus Ortiz writes another nice column about SLU. Whoa.

This can't be. Definitely does not fit the narrative.

no one will respond because for some reason the Post doesn't get a fair shake on this site.

Agree Bourban, this is a big WOW.  On behalf of TrollPants, who even though he can't post, religiously reads this board, we both say fine job Coach.  It will be interesting to watch Stiebel, USMNT U20 goalie.

HoosierPal - How are you doing? Thank you for inviting me and telling me about this board.

I am sure all of these recruits were being recruited by IU, Stanford, Notre Dame, Duke, Virginia, UCLA. Those are the school's beat out for these kids signatures.

I would be curious what other schools were recruiting these kids. That would tell a lot about how successful or not they will be.

  8. While I appreciate everyone's passion for baseball does Billikens baseball really need a bigger stadium?

They play a soft schedule (don't see Texas, TCU, Florida, Florida State, University of Miami) and really don't draw.

Soccer. Again. Attendance is minimal. No need to build a bigger stadium until the need is there.

are there people in the Athletic Department whose job it is to fu drains for a new stadium? To my knowledge no, but if there is why not call them up. Say why are we not fundraising for a new stadium.

Posting anonymously on a message board won't get it done.

And where is Bishop ...or Bishop's body?  I find it amazing none of the three did anything legal in the long run.

You didn't mention the fact that the players (one or all posted the video online) why do you leave that out?

So the players have no responsibility for what happened?

I wonder if/when we will hear something about the Circuit Attorney and if she will pursue charges.

They may have gotten a break because she seems more interested in pursuing charges against Greitens ( which will further her own career) than pursuing charges against the player/players (which won't further her own career).

The above link is a positive article from the Post-Dispatch about (gasp) SLU baseball.

That can't be I thought because everyone on Billikens.com says the Post NEVER has positive articles about SLU.

Yet here one was. Much to my dismay there wasn't one mention of it on Billikens.com. How can that be? Is everybody at the Kentucky Derby?

Maybe it doesn't fit the narrative. Here is the crazy thing. This is the second positive article about SLU this week. There was an article about the softball team. Yet no mention on Billikens.com.

    Why is that?

Here is a positive article about SLU softball by Stu Durando who many have unjustly criticized.

    Doesn't fit the narrative though.

  12. So here is the question. If the Porters had approached Ford about coming to SLU you would have wanted Ford to say no. Now knowing MPJ was going to be hurt all year obviously you would say no, but at the time no one knew that.

I would have wanted Ford to say yes.

The Post had a nice article about the women's softball team this week yet no one mentions that. Doesn't fit the narrative I guess.

all games should be acc, big 10, big 12, sec, or big east teams or else the opponent should be a team that was ranked last year in the top 25.   all games should be a part of a 2 year home and away deal and have equal amounts of home and away games.     thats who i would like to see for our "other games" ooc.   no buy games.

    Agree with this wholeheartedly.

I didn't even look at the argument you were having above to know what you were posting about.  I still haven't looked at it, because I'm not interested.  I just wanted to point out that all of your posts are exactly the same.  You then responded to my post by denying that this is the case.  Except in your response, you followed the exact same formula that you always use and that I predicted.  The only difference is that when you got the name calling part, you called me a "coward" instead of an "idiot."

If you want, I can draft up a response to this post.  We all know what it will look like.  You're a one trick pony.

    Unfortunately you are wrong.

i have never called anyone an idiot. I dare you to find a post where I have called anyone an idiot.

You won’t though because you can’t - you are a coward.

Just summing up for everyone who misses arguing with him.

Can you show me where I said that because you didn't quote me which means you lied.

I never said SLU sucks - I asked billikenroy if he truly was interested in having freshman not compete because that would mean Gordon wouldn't be able to play for SLU next year.

I know you won't respond because you are a coward like the rest of the posters on this site.

Instead of trying to engage and prove me wrong you make little posts as a troll (even though you don't point that out) - you want the members to police the board which is an extremely bad idea by the way.

That is a good way to foster groupthink.

i like the freshmen ineligible thought.    you can bet a kid that really is only in it for basketball will not sit around a year and have to study and not play.

So what do you know Billikens Roy and I agree on something.

The only thing is that means Gordon doesn't play for SLU next year. Are you willing to sacrifice that?

I am sure this post will get hidden as Billikens.com goes to rules that President XI would blush at.

Yes, I'm still here...and yes, I do want our biased rag of a newspaper to cover SLU baseball, tennis, track and all the other D-1 sports in which the Billikens compete, win or lose.  It would be nice if the local paper reported fairly and equally, but alas, it does not.  Mizzou baseball lost three in a row and the P-D reported on it.  There is more positive news coming out of the SLU campus than negative, but the P-D in their warped view of the world only prints what it wants.

I really do hope you enjoy always being negative.  I truly do wonder how you survive on a daily basis.  With your constant negative attitude I would think those around you would love to punch your lights out regularly.  You are Eeyore!

The difference is that Mizzou baseball lost those three games to the University of Florida who I believe was number one in the country. SLU lost to SEMO, SIU-E and Jacksonville University. There is some difference don't you think?

The P-D prints what they think the vast majority of its readership wants to read about. Pure and simple. That is why there is so much Cardinals coverage.

SLU tennis? Really? There is NO interest in college tennis. Look at the attendance of their matches. That proves it. Even the attendance at SLU baseball would prove the lack of interest. The job of promoting SLU athletics falls to the Sports Information Department at SLU. Not the PD.

If SLU baseball averaged 10,000 fans per game. Their would be a reporter from the PD there. Same goes for SLU tennis. Track? Again, outside of the Olympics there is very little coverage of track.

Who else was going at Jakob Poeltl besides Utah?

Davidson, another team of our caliber. Oh but Poeltl didn’t end up doing anything special, just became Pac-12 player of the year and a lottery pick. But because blue bloods didn’t recruit him he’s a bench player

So the kid from Iceland is going to be the A-10 player of the year and a lottery pick? What would you like to bet?

I guess we won’t be hearing from the guy who said the Post should be covering the baseball team more since they have lost five in a row. So much for that at-large bid.

Rob Loe was so good the NBA completely ignored him.

This is proof you know absolutely nothing about the basketball program French is from the North East and Jacobs is from Chicago.

SLU went to Chicago and signed Dwayne Evans and Mike McCall, at the same time SLU signed Rob Loe and Cody Ellis.

See you can do both and build a good team.

I am not talking about last year I am talking about this year.

You are telling me this kid from Iceland is better than ANY kid in the US that doesn't have a team? I have a hard time believing there isn't a kid from the US that is better than this kid from Iceland.

my other question is who else was after this kid's signature? Villanova? Duke? Kentucky? Kansas? Gonzaga? That would tell a lot about how good this kid will be.

So I guess Travis Ford is the smartest coach in America and he is the on,y one who knew about this kid? Hardly.

This kid from Iceland will be an end of the bench guy.

Rob Loe and Cody Ellis were average players nothing special. No professional career of any consequence.

It's hilarious. Refuses to respect Billiken Soccer titles before X date but man all those SPUMAC NCAA tournament appearances from eons ago.

There is only one NCAA Tournament appearance and Elite 8 appearance before 1973 ( SLU’s last NCAA Soccer Championship) So where is this eons stuff coming from?

It has been forty years since SLU has won College Cup and twenty years since they have been there.

Talk about eons. With the recruits Kalish has I doubt next year is the year either.

SLU is going to Iceland for recruits? What about New York? Chicago? Philadelphia?

You would "love" to post something positive about SLU?  Just stop. You were trashing SLU on other message boards just a few years ago when we were ranked and making NCAA tourney trips.

I never bought your explanations of the source of your obsessive hatred of SLU - being a Notre Dame fan, etc.  Your latest drivel reinforces what I've always suspected. Mizzou more successful? By what measure? How far back you want to go? You always downplay SLU's historic success when you talk SLU soccer. Since the start of this decade SLU basketball has won 3 NCAA Tourney games vs. O (ZERO) for SPUMAC. And historically as an athletic department, somebody earlier pointed out that Mizzou athletics has only won two team national championships in their history and both of those took place more than 50 years ago. That's pathetic! Especially for a state school. That's fewer national championships than SLU. By your logic, if media coverage is predicated on success, your beloved Mizzou deserves "nothing."

I am much more a ND fan than Mizzou fan.

How is Mizzou basketball more successful than SLU basketball?

Mizzou twenty six NCAA Tournament appearances SLU nine. Mizzou twelve appearances in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 SLU five. Mizzou six Sweet 16 NCAA Tournament appearance SLU two. Mizzou four Elite 8 NCAA Tournament appearances SLU one.

How is SLU Men's basketball program better? Looking forward to facts, not emotion.

I have never downplayed SLU's soccer success (show me how I have done that you won't). I have only pointed out that their last NCAA College  Cup appearance was twenty years ago. Their last NCAA Men's Tournament College Cup Championship was forty years ago. How is that downplaying it again?

billikenroy that story about me being rebuffed by SLU soccer is not true. Have never been and never wanted to be associated with the program. That was started by HoosierPal (who by the way invited me here so you can thank him). He is wrong.

I am sure you won't answer as you are afraid to.

For everyone downplaying S2 saying it was no big deal and the players should get off and walk with no punishment - you guys sure are sensitive about it. Guilt maybe?

Why do you even post on this board?  And why are you defending the rag of a newspaper?  You have never posted one thing positive about SLU!  I don't care if SLU's baseball team is playing Khoury League teams.  They are 25-9, 11-1 in the conference and no one outside of the SLU community knows it.  Coach Hendrickson has done an incredible job of sustained success for this program and they deserve some positive publicity.  Plus...I am tired of reading about Mizzou basketball every day.  There is a D-1 university in town and if Stu would be allowed more column space maybe it would excite the casual fan.

I am not defending the Post. I am pointing out why the baseball team doesn't get that much publicity using facts. Not emotion. They have a good record against a weak schedule.

The fact that no one outside the SLU community knows about the baseball team is up to the Sports Information Department.

I would love to post something positive about SLU as soon as there is something to post. I follow the soccer team and let's face it there hasn't been a lot to post positive about that team. They have made the NCAA Tournament twice in eight years. Haven't been to College Cup in twenty years. Haven't won an NCAA title in over forty years.

S2 was disgraceful. Yet posters on this site were only worried about how it impacted wins/losses for the basketball team. Not that S2 showed there are some serious moral issues in the basketball program.

In terms of Missouri and Illinois basketball both programs have been more successful than SLU. Just using one metric is trips to the NCAA Tournament.

SLU doesn't even exist in terms of retailers in regards to SLU stuff. You see Mizzou SWAG though. I bet in Illinois you see Illinios SWAG as well.

In terms of the baseball team deserving publicity - there is a famous movie line -Deseverves has got nothing to do with it.
