  1. I find it odd that SLU seems to screw up so many facets of their marketing. I'm sure they have a department filled with very capable people, but it seems like there is no communication among anyone when it came to this rebranding. It goes beyond just the rebranding. There just seems to be a ton of dysfunction right now and I'm not exactly sure what that should be attributed to.

I wholeheartedly agree. I cannot imagine that the people that work in Marketing are just flat out not smart. There has to be some type of change though. It's starting to get thoroughly frustrating.

  2. According to workers at the Chaifetz store, they ordered for the season before they were informed about the new logo. Major mistake by the university. So no one takes shots at the people from the Chaifetz store, they are a contracted group paid by the university to run the store. So it is on the university to keep in touch with them on the branding situation. A forever failing marketing department at St. Louis University....

  3. Really have no desire to see Crews on the sideline anymore. Zero enthusiasm. Fairly sure the players have no motivation to play for him. He's never positive. Not once have I seen him encourage a player to do better after a mistake. All he does is either A) Scream at the player like they're 9 years old, Or B) Pout like a baby, which only makes things worse. I am thoroughly disappointed in the way that Crews handles himself as coach of a program that should be thriving. In my opinion just give the job to Cheaney or Bronson. Maybe they'll be at least a little excited about coaching a college basketball team with some decent players on it.

  4. Aaron is a pretty cool dude. Very energetic even in an 8am. I have a class with him and he seems really enthusiastic about being on the team. One of the reasons I heard he was on the team is because he plays very solid defense. Which is what I would assume made Crews and Co. like him as a practice player. This statement was only heard from a friend, but I don't see why anyone would lie about it.

  5. Tanner Bronson, Davell Roby, and Aaron Hines were at the game for SLU. Xavier Sneed was guarded by 6'4 Reggie Crawford. Chaminade's best defender. Also Hazelwood Central ran zero offense. The coaching that Central had was pitiful. I actually felt sad for Central because they had a lot of talent that I believe was wasted by bad coaching.

  6. Thought I would bring up someone flying under a lot of radars right now. A legitimate 6'5 wing who is getting interest from the Bills. Zeke Moore from Riverview Gardens. Transferred to Riverview this year to play ball and be coached by his Dad. He went to my Alma Mater at McCluer North. He can really stroke it from three and can handle the ball fairly well for his size. Currently second in the area in scoring at 27 a game. Only second to FBJT. I know SLU has talked to him and sent a letter or two. Has offers from the entire MO Valley besides Wichita State. Should be interesting to see in the coming weeks what comes of this.

  7. Also, why don't we isolate AY on the wing a little bit more. I can't see too many defenders being able to stop him getting to the basket one on one. When he gets doubled I would assume he has the ability to make a nice pass out of the double to the open man.

  8. Coming from the front row of the student section, I could see exactly why Miles Reynolds was the heart of his Whitney Young team last year. He was great on defense, and calling out the inbound plays of SIU. He was getting in the other guards heads. That is something an experienced point guard does on defense. While he still needs to work on his decision making on the offensive side of things, I see good things in his future.

  9. SIUC returns much more scoring and on court experience than we do.

I agree. Even though Grandy and John are both seniors, they have a lot to prove. They have played behind some great players and hopefully they can show what they have learned these past few years. But in reality, it may take a few games for them to actually produce in game.
