Not so, all we have lost is our moral slide rules
-
Bonwich, by the way I also used slide rules when I was in college. What this means is that we are OLD
-
Hail and well met Bonwich, fellow geek.
-
Me too, and sent the link to my friends so they could vote as well.
-
Thank you, Bonwich and billslasttermdropout, some day I will have to show you my collection of pocket protectors.

Good stuff Bonwich. I started playing with IE11 and this is what I found. If you open IE 11 and press F12, you get a panel of instructions and directions in the bottom of your screen (may be elsewhere in the screen). The top of the panel contains menu selections. Look for "Browser mode" and set it to IE 9, then look for document mode and set it to IE 9. Now the configuration of your browser should be changed (when I first opened it my IE 11 was of IE 7 mode, and the same for the document). Playing around with this panel's commands may deal with or aleviate the issues you may have with IE 11. I am typing this from IE 11 not from my usual Chrome.

It is not so much where they have placed us, as to who in the A10 is in the list. As far as I can see only UMass makes the cut (at #20) besides SLU (at #22).
-
Of course they practice every morning, the issue is will they have enough time for a full practice and reaching readiness for the game before they start playing at 11:00 EST. This is not a major concern of mine, I am just asking for information if anyone has any opinions about this.

That shows MC has a hard head, always a good feature in contact sports

If you're a bad coach, how do you elevate yourself to that level where you can get good recruits? It never made any sense to me...
Life is the way it is, it oftentimes does not make sense.

The projection at this time from Teamrankings is for a Dayton win with 1 out of 5 stars confidence level. Another thing, this game is scheduled for 10:00 AM Central. I have no idea if the change in time from the usual evening / night play time to 10:00 AM will have any impact on the game or not. Any thoughts on this, Wiz?

there's one underlying reason why an idiot college kid would chose them over us:
SLU is perceived as an Uncle Tom school. mizzou is a poo rat school. kids with a good head on their shoulders (i.e. our dudes) will realize that getting a good education is the most honky-whippin' thing they can do. so i'll keep our kids.
Loved it!

No, it was your #3, I stand corrected.

No one has made a comment on the foul shooting. I think we would be doing better, particularly in this year's foul prone situation, if we improved our foul shooting, that is everyone.

If you have the new chanel in HD 1613, it should also be in regular definition at 613. I will check, thanks for the info.

I would consider this as a pre arranged time out with the ref ready to call it as soon as the coach signalled it. I do not see how it could be done otherwise. I also do not know if this is OK procedure or not.

My turn, watched this dirty mess via TV. RI played to the best of their ability which was not enough even with the support they got from the refs. Talk about a home court advantage! Despite all the plainly bad calls, we won. A win is a win. If they refs had officiated properly it would have been a better win, but a win it was. We have now a string of 8 wins. We will see what happens in Dayton this weekend.

The Big Lead's first crack at projecting seeds has SLU checking in as a 7: http://thebiglead.com/2014/01/07/college-basketball-ncaa-tournament-projections-kansas-duke-and-kentucky-have-all-underwhelmed-but-should-be-top-three-seeds/
It also has UMass (4), VCU (7), and Dayton (8).
And GW as well, 5 teams projected from A10

I am with you, nothing like working harder to make them look at you in a better light.

Whining from him, or his parents, or both?

The nice thing about transfers is that once you have them, they no longer have as easy an option to walk and still retain their full eligibility. Very few players transfer twice. The balance of power shifts to the coaching staff once a transfer occurs.
Yes, and that is why the decision of where to transfer to will be very difficult for Cam. This is mostly a one shot deal as you say.
-
If you were Brey would you take him back? This kid has taken a difficult road, let's hope it works well for him.
-
I am going to express a dissenting opinion about Cam. He sounds, to me at least, as a person that wants what he wants and is willing to walk if he does not get it. That is a big problem. I think coaches have to think carefully about what they are getting if they get Cam. A coach's job is to shape and direct his team, to mold the talent he has recruited into a team that expresses his ideas about play and team work. I think this might be a difficult thing to do while trying to keep Cam from bolting. In other words are you going to run a team or are you going to be doing what Cam thinks is best for himself, can you reach a mutually happy medium with Cam? Most certainly Brey could not. Food for thought, how far are you, the coach, willing to go for the sake of having Cam playing for you? Of course (strictly by what I have heard about him in this board) Haith has his own way of doing things, and he may think there is a perfect connection between his style and Cam's, who knows. However, I think Crews is a very different kind of guy and I could see some degree of incompatibility between his way of doing things and Cam's.
I think Cam has a tough decision to make, one that may indeed force him to accept more restrictions and less play time than he desires if he wants to come to SLU. Time will tell.

My prior comment was not intended to mean anything negative about SLU, just the passing (sadly) of the slide rules, RIP to them. I fixed the prior comment.
