You don't fire a horrible coach when you should have. Had Crews been replaced mid season last year with an interim and a hot new coach hired this offseason (quickly) Tatum could have been here. Without Jimmy here and last season's disaster, no chance.

It's Ben Jacobson, ass-hat! We can just hope that Crews doesn't ruin the Billikens' name so much that Big Ben doesn't want to come here.

We need help but if 2 transfer and we get 4 to come in, the whole dynamic changes. We need muscle inside. Remember when Cory Remeken was our 7th or 8th man...
But we never seem to get those good Juco transfers or 5th year senior specials. Cory would be the starting center now.

I don't think we can conclude that until his little twisted experiment yields it's results next year. I agree it's not looking good, but it's too early to tell. He took a huge gamble and threw away this season for the sake of the future. Now it better pay off.
The only way that makes sense is if he was trying to get a real non conference schedule next year since teams had been afraid to schedule us. Now we look like a patsy schedule. Unless that was the move there was no need for this. And he displayed clear in game incompetence many times esp last year vs. Wichita State (we should've won and there would have been no undefeated year) so yea I think we can conclude.

YES YES YES.. Crews is the worst coach since..i don't even know. He is a joke with no clue and killed a program with 3 straight ncaa trips. That should let you recruit well. Rick was sick, granted, but players should have been coming in every year. Instead...this....and can't even coach the guys he does have.

Crews doesn't have anything. I assume practice is uncoached scrimmages

Illinois State and Loyola are both potential sleeping giants, especially with 2 coaches establishing their programs.
We should grab up that Illinois State coach. How about Belmont tonight raining 3s. Game of the day was that one. Wish I could have watched the Yale Dartmouth live but found the highlights. Insane finish. How do you knock the ball out of bounds when a team is throwing it 90 feet! Then they inbound from under their basket and win!

Underwood is a great idea. He does some really good things and would probably show interest. I think Jacobsen would do it with enough money. I want him so bad.. Def no chance with Drew, he is a Valpo lifer. Howland is interesting if he wants to coach again. I didn't mention him because I assumed he was done for good but maybe not. Also a possible dark horse is the Illinois State coach Dan Muller esp if he wins tomorrow. Young and working on building a program there. If he can get into the tourney and win a game or so I would look at him.

It's easy enough to say fire the coach. Who do you want to hire? And let's be reasonable, someone we could actually get and would want to take the job.
I've wanted Ben Jacobsen from Northern Iowa all along. I think with the pay raise he would get and conference step up he would take it. If he can recruit that team to top 15 in the country, he is who we need. Plus he preaches defense and the majerus offensive style. Top 5 defensive team in the country. Chaifetz needs to back up the brinks truck in his driveway and get it done.

Thank you. And I am not anyone but myself. Why are you obsessed with thinking I am some other person? you guys are neurotic. I am only 29 years old and graduated from Chaminade and I am not bitter about anything... I just love SLU and this season has made me sick.
This time he got it right.

Many of you here have branded me a troll because I say it like it is. Crews has been an awful coach with no in game adjustments and his recruiting has been awful. But I gotta hand it to him on this Zeke kid. Sealing the borders for a good shooter that may have had competitive Valley or lower tier Big 12 prospects is a nice get. Especially someone who seems to believe in the program. Now, can he coach him? Jimmy might finally have one here.
