  1. i want the quality of our student athletes hear and soul to be the ilk of paul eckerle. i am not saying they are not, but cutting the best example we have isnt going to do anything to win over that next paul eckerle that happens to also be 6'10" tall, and shoots like kevin durrant and runs and jumps like hakeem warrick either.

If a 6'10" player who shoots like Durant, runs and jumps like Warrick is interested in SLU, he won't give a ###### what SLU did/does with Eckerle. More than likely he won't be interested in anything to do with SLU anyway, he'll be looking at perennial power like duke, unc, etc.. I am not quite sure what you are trying to say here, your example just doesn't make much sense.

  2. This comparison is truly dumb. Biondi lives on the campus of SLU, he works at SLU, he is an ambassador to SLU. Part of his "stuff to do" is to go to the game. Chaifetz has no obligation to give any money to the school, to go to the games, or to support the team, but he does so in spite of all the obstacles.

Quit being an idiot, get off your high horse and realize what a great contribution Chaifetz has made. We might still be in the "thin" if it weren't for him.

I am not positive but I think Rimmerman and Flash are the balding father/son duo that sit in the second row of section 108.

  3. It is up--I just watched it. From the TV angle you can't quite see how sick it was. You see him just remove the first guy's jock but you really see how far laterally he moved on the second guy. He went right at him to the seft side of the lane and then jumped away from him to the right side of the rim to lay it in. I was right behind it in sectin 108. It was truly sick.

Agreed, That camera angle did not do it justice. I was right there as well.

  4. Great win by Xavier today.

Xavier is a basketball only school in a non-BCS conference. that is who we are and clearly we want to be where they are.

Xavier is one of two teams to make the sweet sixteen each of the last three years....."clearly we want to be where they are"

They are 5 point dogs to K State. I can see them winning this game. I can also see Jordan Crawford going pro after this season with the way he's played, especially in the tournament.

  5. What's with the Wil-lie chant during Willie's free throws? Is this something he asked for? Seems like it'd be distracting.

He shoots better from the line with the chant than without. Maybe it's the chant or maybe it's just that he's been working hard to improve at the line. Either way he only had one terrible looking free throw last night....which is a great improvement.

  6. Would have liked to see Kwamain shoot the ball at the end of the first OT, but it was a good shot by KC.....just would have liked to see Kwamain take over a little more, but we got the W anyway.....

    Can't wait.

Kwamain clearly took over the game and led us to a victory. Just because he didn't score every time down the court doesn't mean he didn't take over the game. Without that amazing steal at the end of regulation and the ability to tip the ball to Reed, while falling out of bounds, we would not be playing Wednesday. In both overtimes he helped create shots, got assists and had another big steal. KC's shot at the end of OT was a good one but without KM drawing the defender off KC he wouldn't of had that look. KM had a hell of a game.

  7. And of course, KM stealing the inbound with x seconds left. I'm not even surprised anymore when he drags our a$$e$ out of the fire time and again. It's expected.

KM with the PLAY OF THE GAME!!!!

On a different note, I was at the game and dvr'd the game. I just watched the last portion of the game and with about 1:30 left in regulation Pearson had that dunk on a missed layup to put WGB up by 2. It was impressive, but the announcer screams that it was the best play he has seen all year, at any level!!! This guy must not watch too much ball. This is the same announcer for SLU's last game where Kwamain put that crazy double move and drove to the basket, which in my opinion was by far better than that dunk. The refs were idiots and the announcers are idiots. Exciting Game. Bring on Princeton!
