  2. Hey, they just tried to run the "Picket Fence"!
  3. Wasn't Fran Fraschilla the 2nd choice for coach if Rick majerus hadn't taken the job?
  4. How much time per week do you think a coach spends thinking about how to vote in the coaches poll? 10-15 minutes? Do you think any of them use sophisticated algorithms or high speed super computers, like KenPom or the Wiz? Doubtful. It also makes sense that the voters think more in terms of what a team has done lately vs. their entire body of work. ND beat then #10 Louisville, #1 Syracuse, #19 Uconn, and #15 Marq. in the last 5 weeks or so, plus they are 9-3 in an excellent conference. Coaches evidently take notice of that, as does the general public, who aren't near as well-informed as us. Hey, there's no reason to hate on Notre Dame. At least they believe in God, unlike the pagans at Mi$$ou. I look forward to SLU and ND being in the same all-Catholic conference some day.
  5. Coach Majerus wants to pass out Charlie Spoonhaur masks at a game with organ donor registration form on the back. He did something similar at Utah and got over 1000 registrations.
  6. Yeah, but which bracketologist was the best at picking the brackets and seeding 3 weeks before selection Sunday? Quite a bit can happen in 3 weeks, with teams still having 5 to 8 games to play. So, while it may be possible to forecast which teams make the NCAA tournament with a relative amount of accuracy, at this point in the season, even the best predictions of seedings will have a very large margin of error.
  7. I don't know what team you've been watching for the past 3+ months, but based on the team I've watched progress since early November, the most likely outcome for the rest of the season is 5-0. You don't need KenPom, or Sagarin, or the Wiz to predict that, you only need to pay attention to what's going on in the A-10. Then, in the A-10 tournament, 3-0 is as likely as 2-1. So, the two most probable outcomes are 28-5, or 27-6. So what is the Billiken's "MB73" rating then?
  8. This particular bracket is based on results to-date. It may have some accuracy as to predicting who will be in the NCAA tournament, but it doesn't have any accuracy when it comes to predicting the seedings, because every team still has 5-8 games left to play. Looking to the future, I predict the Bills get somewhere between a 4 to 7 seed.
  9. I doubt it. But, if they win their next 3 games, I think they will make the top 25.
  10. It's really too early to definitivly say which team is better. I think the 93-94 team was more talented, but this team plays better team basketball, and is also deeper. They have a very good chance of going 5-0 for the rest of the season. I see a definite win over X, and a possible let up @ Duquense. After that, two wins in the A-10 tournament, minimum, and a very good chance to win that. Actually, i think the loss at UMass was a "good" loss, because it taught the team to bring it every game. ever since that game, theiir team defense has been A+. Although, I am slightly concerned about their offense. The real test will be the NCAA tournament. At the beginning of the year, my personal goal for the team was Sweet 16. At the time, maybe it was just a wish, but now, it's definitely do-able. The seedings/brackets will make a big difference. I'm not happy with a SLU-FSU match-up in the 1st round, but I don't see that happening. But IF the Bills do make the Sweet 16, they are definitely the greatest Bills team of the modern era... and I expect more in the future.
  11. Hey, the announcers need to stop complaining about the officiating! Those three refs are true pros.
  12. On the video feed- the picture is excellent, but the screen is frezzing up. Anybody else having that problem?
  13. Obviously, the regular LaSalle cheerleader squad has some other commitment today. today.
  14. The article gives plenty of evidence that he is smart enough, Roy. After all, he's getting a C+ in a "tough" business ethics class at the Harvard of the A-10.
  15. Best case scenario: Bills go 6-0 for rest of regular season, and then win the A-10 tournament. Definitely do-able. Final record is 28-5 (27-5 for purists). Then what NCAA seeding could they expect?
  16. BTW, wasn't Joe Lunardi one of the broadcasters on last nights game?
  17. Agree. That's what happened at LMU, and probably UMass. hopefully, those experiences will help the players remain focused. I'd say 12-4 or better is a lock, regardless of A-10 tournament. 11-5 is still probable, depending on who beats us, but one win in the A-10 tournament locks it.10-6 is unthinkable, and I'd be unable to watch the A-10 tournament in that case, anyway, because there'd be bullet holes in my TV and lap top.
  18. It's still early, and some teams still control their own destiny. But, at this point, I'd say the A-10 only has two tournamnet invitees (SLU and Temple), unless somebody else wins the A-10 tournament. UMass has some tough games ahead, and Xavier may have dug itself into too big of a hole. Both have fairly poor RPI's.
