  1. I would say that 1-A football doesn't even make you a major. I would consider the MAC, WAC, CUSA, and Mountian West all mid-major. A major would be a BCS conference. So I would consider Marquette and Villinova major programs even without football. The coference closes the deal.

I wonder if alot people around the country right now would consider the A-10 a low mid-major or high mid-major. The lack of recent post season success of the conference has me worried about how people precieve it.

  2. It was Majic who went to Buss to get him fired. Majic didn't like the style. It wasn't up tempo enough for him. It was while coaching in Puerto Rico when Westhead came up with the run and gun style.

An intresting thing about him and Riley, he brought Riley on to the staff. Riley was a Laker brodcaster who didn't seem to have a future in coaching. Weasthead hires him as his assistant and the rest is history.

We will have to agree to disagree about Weasthead's merits as a coach. But, I sure would a took his LMU run at SLU.

  3. Roy, his Laker championship year he had to take over 14 games into the season for an injured coach. He ,also, is the coached that played Majic at center when Kareem got hurt in the finals. Yeah, he had no clue what he was doing.

I always thought that getting players was a big part of college coaching, but i guess I was wrong on that. He also went to two NCAA tournaments and a NIT in his stint at La Salle from 70-79. Then you had to win the conference to get in the dance and the NIT was much harder to make.

Im not saying he is Phog Allen or John Wooden, but give the guy a little respect.

  4. Hey, Dwayne is a great kid. But he is still a kid. The older Dwayne gets the more ihs perspective might change.

I think it is sort of funny that the two people who might best state Floyd's case really have said much about it. I think it is funny that you have DJ leading the defense of Floyd. A guy who never played, went to Vashon, or even has kids in the city schools. No, he is a guy who has made money off the tragedy that is Vashon.Where have been AB and Jimmy. Not much from them except the generic comment of support.

If he really cared about these kids, he would make sure the had the grades and proper test prep to succeed on the next level. If they did not he would not play them. But, that would affect the programs winning percentage. That would mess with Floyd's fame, wealth and prestige. You wouldn't want to help a kid, if it would hurt the program.

Floyd doesn't really care about his kids at all.

  5. Do you have to know Floyd or the kids personally to be able to see the results. To be honest with you, I do not know how it compares to other schools in similar situations. But, I don't see other coaches being turned into saints or icons( Iron's lawyer's words) for being geat role models and leaders of young men. It is clear from the results the he is not. The point I am trying to make is that basketball just got way out of whack at Vashon. State titles seem like the only thing that meant anything. The kids' futures were not important. Basketball didn't even become away out for some of Vashon's most talented players. I just get a little p.o.ed when I hear about all the good Floyd did for these kids when for most of them the hope for the future is ending between ages 18-20. He didn't do crap for these kids. He used these kids for his own fame and fortune.

  6. For all the good people want to say flojo did for these kids, I wonder if people know the truth. That over the last twenty-five years more of his players have ended up dead or ended up spending time in jail than graduating a four year college. I know alot of these kids come from rough backgrounds, but come on. That is pretty sad record. Where is all the good he has done for these kids. Ten state titles but at what cost.

  7. I think the difference from us being a pretty good team and a really good team depends on Dwayne's ability to hit the open jumper. If he can watch out. We will be able to run much more and will be able to press alot more. It just killed us last year with Dwayne not hitting anything. It really limited his minutes and made it impossible to play the style so many of us want to see. If he finds his shot watch out it will be one hell of a year.

  8. Not saying Blake would have been all conference in CUSA, but he sure would have help open things up last year. I thought much the same as you did about out of high school. I wouldn't have offered him then. I was wrong. The biggest fear I have about Dustin is his lateral foot speed. I think he will be eaten alive on the defensive end by quick players and they will have to try to find away to hide him on that end of the court. That is my biggest fear about Kramer, too.

  9. It may have been a long time, but Kristin was a National Team invitee in both basketball and volleyball even before she started at Stanford. Would have been an Olympian in her choice if it wasn't for the knee injuries. I would pick Kristin first. Her St. Joe teams were undefeated in volleyball and basketball all four of her years there. They were not very good before she got there. The funny thing is she wanted to go to Cor Jesu and they did not accept her.

  10. "Add Tommie Liddell, the league's rookie of the year, in the backcourt and it's easy to understand why many are pointing to Saint Louis as a sleeper to watch this season."

What the &l;edit&r; is Bilas talking about. Sleeper would have been last year. It nice to know that he doesn't even expect us to finish near the top of the league. That means we will probably win it. Hell wasn't he in the studio for the UNC game last year?

  11. Phan give it a break. You don't like start your own board. And, iIwas here at the time, but V wasn't band according to everything I read. He was suspended. He was suspened not for the topics but for flaming the board with a sh*t load of topics. I believe this has been pointed out to you many times.
