  1. Calipari is the only one I think would have a true interest. Sure the others might act like they are interested to get more money from their current school, but really wanting the job no. This job is not as attractive as everone thinks. Nobody wants to put up with all of the outside bs and the unrealistic expectations.

  2. If I was Billy G., I would have to think long and hard before I would take the UK job. I think it compares closely with the Alabama football job. It is all the outside ##### and unrealistic expections you have to put up with that make the job now alot less attractive than most people realize.

  3. There is nothing left to be said about the topic. It has all been said and nothing is going to change for at least a year. It has become a major distraction form the site. This is not a fire the coach site if you want one of those coach start one. If you don't think this site is being brought up by oppossing coaches on the recruiting trail, you are a fool. I am not saying this site is going to be the big factor in if we land someone or not, it isn't. But it adds to all the other negatives out there.

  4. Courtside is right, it has been a great job in the past. It will be a good job for Alford. It is a great area and it has a rapid supportive fan base. The Pit can be the best homecourt advantage in the country. It was also the venue for one of the greatest NCAA finals ever.

  5. I know Nate. I think Nate is a good guy. I respect Nate's basketball knowledge. I respect Nate's knowledge about local hs hoops and players. Hell, I even helped Nate move. But, he can't on here and say that a kid SLU is recruiting has better options than SLU and not expect people to call him on it.

If you are on this board and a SLU fan you should think that SLU is the best option for any local kid. That is what I think. I know Nate came on here later and explained what he meant, but until that happened what do you expect people on this board to do.

  6. With MU having a ex-coach recently get busted for NCAA violations, the same coach having a drinking and coke problem, and the same coach having an affair with a prominent booster's daughter which led to his wife filing for divorce. I would say that pretty much puts MU in a class by itself. You don't even need to bring up the off the court problems of the atheletes there.

  7. I just did a check on the UD and Charlotte sites. Two teams in our conference that did not make the NCAA and would be considered to have disappointing season by their fans. On the first page of posted topics on both sites there was zero topics posted about or related to getting rid of the coach, how bad the coach sucks, or about how recruits have better options than their school. On the first page of this site there are 10 such topics.

You guys are right this site is a cake walk. This site has lost its mind and it is now hurting the program.

  8. He is not going anywhere. We know where everybody stands on this board when it comes to him. All of this drivel on the topic serves no good either way. There is no use to talk about it anymore till after the fall signing period.

It only adds to the ammo an oppossing coach can use against SLU. If the opposing staffs are not feeding the recruits this address and telling them to check it out and see what even the most die hard fans want, then I do not think they are doing their job.

  9. It has all ready been brought up on this board that Brad having only two years remaining on his contract has been used by other teams. You don't think any other programs are going to state that look the guy recruiting you is going to get the ax and if you don't belive me just check out Billikens.com to see that the teams most die hard fans want him gone? I garuntee it is happening and it is making it tougher to get recruits to commit.

  10. He never said that he was a ND fan or a ND hockey fan. Even if you took that away from his post, all you have to do is mention that ND has a great chance of being here for the frozen four. I believe you were just looking for a chance to throw out the names of Kevin White (ND's AD) and Jeff Jackson (ND's coach). I am sure you know them and are friends with them just like Kevin O'Neill, Bruce Prearl, and the many others that you have posted on here.

I am not sure what the hell it has to do with the posted topic at all. Which I find intresting, because you have in the past critizied other posters for going off-topic in threads.

Maybe you should pitch a plan to ESPN for a Berger Bits, Page 6 type column. Then you could regal the whole country with your tid bits, encounters, dinners, and travels with the sports worlds movers and shakers.

  11. From what I understand Florida isn't really an option, if he leaves the area UW is the only true contender.

The Illini have regressed the past two seasons under Weber.

MU will get better under Anderson for sure. But, why would a talented player with NBA dreams want to play in that system? In twenty-two years that system was used at Arkansas and UAB combined it produce just seven NBA players. That is with getting some of the best talent in the country year in and year out to play at Arkansas. If you dream of playing in the NBA you do not want to play in that system.
