I'd rather have the BC game on TV than the Missouri State game.

I'm planning on going and trying to talk the old man into it as well.

Nice Job, I thought you asked some good questions. Keep 'em coming.

"Is there a reason why you chose to use Harris-Stowe?"
Probably because we have played Harris-Stowe in the past as one of our exhibition games and that doesn't come close in comparison to playing a top 5 team like Memphis in getting the team ready for the season.

First of all I thought the event was put together very nicely. I think the Athletic Department deserves some credit for putting this event together.
The food started about 6:30 and Majerus probably started talking about 7 or 715 I'd say. A lot of the stuff has already been said, but there are a few things that I can add.
-Paul B was in Indiana recruiting
-Really sounds like AK is developing nicely
-Trip to Memphis was really beneficial, they are coming here next year for the scrimmage and possibly a game in the future
-Majerus really spoke highly of AT and Moser. He said AT told Majerus that he really wanted him to criticize him as much as possible so he could be the best coach possible
-Coach raves about Luke
Hopefully the injury to Mitchell isn't as bad as they are fearing. It sounds like Majerus really thought he could help right away. Also we really need Tommie to figure out what Coach wants of him, cause if he isn't playing combined with all the other injuries/problems this team is facing right now we are looking at one hell of a long year!

Sorry I didn't have time to write more earlier.
KL and TL- Not much to say other than they were their typical selves. Both the two best players on the court by far. What I liked the most about them was that they were the leaders on the court (encouraging guys, yelling at them to play harder, don't make sloppy passes, etc.) They were both getting on some of the guys pretty hard.
BE- Kind of in between in size. I'd say he is 6'6", but on the other hand he is definately built. He hit a couple 3's and took it to the basket pretty well. I'd say right now he'll probably be a starter. He was guarding Bryce.
BH- As I said above, he was being guarded by BE. Needless to say Bryce was getting knocked around pretty good which I thought was pretty impressive considering that Bryce isn't a little guy at all. He never looked real comfortable out there. Dropping passes, turning the ball over, etc. However I think a lot of it was probably him thinking in the back of his mind that he was going to get hit from behind or something like that whenever he touched it. He'll be ok by the time the season starts. On another note, his body looks much improved. He looks like he's added some definition.
PE- This guy might be one of the top athletes on our team. I know everyone on the board was saying that he has a 35"+ vertical, but I really wasn't expecting it. He can get up! He's a solid player. I don't think he'll be a starter or anything like that, but he definately isn't going to hurt the team.
AM- The guy is a bulldog. With his size he is really able to take it to the hoop and at worst get fouled. He plays hard every second which noticeable considering it was only a pickup game. Think what he's going to do when he gets in front of Majerus. The guy may run through the wall at West Pine for a loose ball...
MR- I really think this guy can put us over the hump this year. He is big, the 6'7" is legit. He can play all 3 guard positions, and if he had to for limited minutes the 4 possibly. It would be nice to see him be that first or second guy in off the bench.
LM- Looked good as well. As someone stated a couple days ago he looks to have extended his range as he knocked down a couple 3's.
DP- Played only 1 game that I saw. Hit a 3.
DM- Looks like he's put some muscle on in the off season. Shot looks nice, but doesn't look to be able to really create for himself.
AK- Wasn't there, maybe had class? I don't know.
Wendell- He was playing, I thought he didn't have any eligibility left?
Don't know if I'm missing anyone else or not, thats about all I can remember.
On a side note. I hear that Peyton Jacks is going to try to walk on again as is some kid that went to SLUH.

I was there.

What time is the game being aired tomorrow on Charter? The TV guide doesn't list it as a program. Anyone know?

For those of you who have not seen him play yet, this will be a good opportunity to see Felton. He's headed to a Juco for the next two years, but I think he is definately someone for us to keep an eye out in a couple years. I guarantee you the staff will be.

Nark, LeBron was simply amazing last night. The fact that the Pistons knew he was the only player on the floor last night that could do anything offensively and he still scored something like 29 of the last 30 Cleveland points was incredible. Everyone knew he was good, but his level of play these last 3 games has put him on another level in my opinion. Once he gets that outside jumper going consistently he will be untouchable. The ease at which he gets to the basket and is able to finish, added with that outside jumper? No one can stop that kind of speed and power.

Would you guys say that Tillman compares favorably to the likes of Lawrence Blackledge who played his high school ball with Justin Dentmon at Carbondale High School? I saw Tillman at the shootout this year where he had something like 10 blocks, each one more spectacular than the one before. I agree that he looks to have tons of potential and agree that he would be a great player for our staff to develop.

It's about time for the one year anniversary of Justin Hughes' death. This is a pretty good article about Larry, really shows a side of him that most people never see.

6'6" and 252 lbs??? That is huge! I hope its true, we could really use a body like that down in the post.

Moser got some really good players to commit to Illinois St. Dentmon committed to go there, but his grades weren't good enough and after he went the prep school route, Lorenzo snatched him up. He's started at Washington from day 1.
Gordon was newcomer of the year in the valley if I remember correctly.
Dodie Dunson from Bloomington H.S. (who I saw break his hand on the rim in an AAU game after he dunked over Brandon Rush of Kansas), who is now at Iowa State also committed to attend Illinois St. Much in the same manner as Dentmon, he too decided to go elsewhere after a year of prep school.

The SLU-Utah game was definately a night game, 48-45 I believe was the final score. All I can remember about the game was a guy from Utah missed a pass and had to run back and grab the ball where he then was forced to throw up a 35-40 footer as the shot clock was going off and made it. It simply killed us.
The SLU-UMASS game when Hughes was playing was an afternoon game, maybe that is what you are thinking about.

Josh Hancock, a relief pitcher for the Cards was pronounced dead last night after crashing his Ford Explorer on Highway 40. Game tonight has been cancelled.
My prayers go out to his family in such a tragic time.

I'll be there with a couple of other guys as well.

Judging by the way that Biondi has been ridiculed in the press lately, if he blew this now, especially after yesterday, the press would have a field day with him. He can't afford at this point to make an ##### out of himself anymore than he already has.
Get it done Larry!

I'm just giving you a little trouble from a Sig Ep that has gotten lit up by Peyton on too many occasions. I agree with you though.

SAE's sticking together I see...

Kids are definately talking about it. When Brad got fired last week, I was actually surprised. There were people all over the place talking about it, but since the talk of Rick Majerus possibly becomming the new coach, I have heard even more birds chirping about it. I just hope it is true, because students are getting excited about it IMO. There is still a long way to go though, as the majority of kids on campus still could care less about the basketball team. Time will tell I suppose.
