I did not hear the show about private school recruiting methods...my question is why was the discussion limited to private schools???

I distinctly remember being at a hs game in which his son was playing, I was sitting across the court and Earl was sitting in the row in front of Slaten.
Before the ball was tipped Slaten was going nuts.
Play begins, he gets worse, the ref, the other team, the coach of his son's team, his son's team mates, all getting it.
(Yes, I can see and hear this across the floor)
Half time, he seems a bit calmer.
Second half, midway through the 3rd quarter, he is screaming about something and a guy, probably about 50 yrs old and sitting a section toward center court and down about 4 rows, gets up and yells something back at Slaten.
Slaten loses whatever he had left.
His face goes completely scarlet and he starts climbing toward the guy. I think he would have inflicted serious harm.
He has to climb over Earl to get to the guy, and Earl grabs him and he can't go.
Not long after this, the Rockwood district restricted bans him from attending any events in the district.
This being said, he is familiar with at least Earl, maybe friends.
Although I would like Earl's assessment of the situation between the two of them I wouldn't lower myself to ask that.
Slaten is something else, what I am not sure.

Slaten doesn't like UB either as in his (Slaten's) opinion UB lied to the Slatens about offering a scholarship to the kid
calls him (UB) a liar
even if not true, you can NEVER change Slaten't mind on anything

But someone who is in a position to know told me she is back and they are living together, at least that was the case last week.

Broy, I appreciate your crusade.
With no competition, at least in ST Charles, the PD has slipped from bad to worse imo as a newspaper.
I'm not sure what the people there read (not including Bonwich) that would make them change.
I have questioned Mr starks on one occasion and he did respond in a professional manner, so not sure on that front.
the best ammo in the fight would be a winning team, I hope you get that.
When we win and fill the Savvis, then I will campaign with you.

Goat, I hope you are correct about the focus of the STL community on SLU hoops.
For me, the only undebatable statistic to show this will be attendance.
I truly hope this happens.

Would we all like to have more SLU coverage? sure
Do we all have a bias towards SLU? probably
Do we all hate Mizzou? no
How relevant is SLU basketball to the St Louis community at this point in time? not much at all
How can this change? win some games, go the NCAA, win some NCAA games
Will SLU ever get the attention in the PD Broy wants? I doubt it
Why does Broy keep preaching to the choir that the PD is not covering SLU like he wants? not sure
