In todays print edition #10 Mizzou and SLU shared front page space in the sports section. #12 Illinois was relegated to page 4.
All three were losers yesterday. I have heard so much complaining about our placement and lack of coverage in the past I was minimally surprised to hear nothing today.

I sent two emails earlier this week. One to Chris May and another to Matt Hayden asking them to please consider recording the service and posting it on slubillikens.com. I received no response from either.-I wish I had been able to attend, thanks for the summary, I am glad SLU is getting good reviews for this, I would love for it have been taped for others to view but understand that may not have been appropriate

When I DVR any sporting event I have made it a rule to always add extra timeThis.
I had to work today so I was unable to attend.
I dVR'd the game and just finised watching. My DVR recording cut off with 1:15 to go.
If the ovation would of gone on longer I would of missed even more of the game.
I would have been all types of pissed if it had been a tie game and then my feed cut off.
I now know to set the DVR for an extra 30 minutes just in case,

It would have nice to let the ovation build for a bit longer or until the fans were ready to conclude their show of gratitude for Coach on their own. Most of the crowd was just getting ready to join the student and band sections riCK-MAjerus chant BUT I guess Guy thought it was time to move on to the national anthem ................Right you are.

Guy Phillips highlights from tonight.
- At least twice announced the SIU-Carbondale game was being played THIS Saturday evening. The scoreboard showed Nov. 24th but Guy announced this Saturday evening multiple times.
- Announced Oscar winning actor Denzel Washington was entering the game in the second half for the Santa Clara Broncos. A quick peek at the roster showed it was actually Denzel Johnson.

A few more items from the luncheon......
Recruiting....We are looking at 2 prospects from Vegas and one from Orlando in addition to a couple of kids from St. Louis. Justin Tatum's son is also on the radar but not being recruited as he is only a 9th grader. May said that the prospects available in the class of 14 are even better than the ones for next year.
Who says you can't recruit 9th graders......................

I thought it was cool he decided to come to school here in St. Louis all the way from Oregon. The world is getting smaller every day. Break out of your tired ways.............

think that may be Anthony Mitchell you are referring to. Can't remember exactly how that story went................It's been a while since ESL has turned out any D-1 players of note. I do recall the kid SLU signed that couldn't play, but can't think of any others recently. East Side is not the hot bed of hoops it once was.

We could be one coaching move away from oblivionNot a huge fan. I feel like this puts us closer to a mid-major than major. Both have had extreme success lately, but I question there sustainability. George Mason is already fading away and VCU is one coaching move away from oblivion. Plus, we have both markets already covered. Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

You would think any real Bloods would sign with a team that wears red. A bunch of Crips wearing blue? Seems like their skin would melt or something.The thing that has the locals buzzing in New Orleans is the use of hand signs by the Ky team. These are not vague signs that can be misinterpreted as fun gestures but the sign of the Bloods gang. Their fan base not only uses them but wear t shirts with the symbols. New Orleans police shudder when they see thousands of visiting fans using the signs of crime, violence and drugs in their city...not to mention the glorification of these hoodlums. Is this what an institution of higher learning should represent? ...with no graduates in their program in sight it is truly winning at all costs.

I was down at the bookstore in Busch Center today. There is a nice variety of Billiken gear on available. Stocked up on multiple items. Not to mention to mention a beautiful day for a quick stroll around campus to view all the lovely scenery including many lovely coeds in spring attire.I got a really great sweatshirt from the bookstore. Its a white zip up with the billiken winking on the back. I love it ( cuz I assume hes a smart a$$ just like every other billiken fan). But I found it odd they didnt have it available online... I saw someone wearing it at the beginning of the season and wanted one ever since... finally had time to stop in the bookstore and there it was. I love love love it, but wish i didnt have to jump through so many hoops to get it. : /

Unbelievable. I am always surprised at the number of people at the Fetz wearing MU Tiger gear. Get a clue!No joke: there was a dude at the SLU Pre-Game party wearing nothing but MU gear.

A photo would have been nice BUT I thought it was even better that the Billiken story as the sports page top story ABOVE the MU story.
